On Wednesday (12 June), posters appeared in Jaipur’s Shivaji Nagar area of Bhatta Basti, asking people not to sell their houses to non-Hindus. The posters, signed by a group called Sarv Hindu Samaj,’ urge Sanatani (Hindu) people to stop the migration of community members from the area.
Some local residents told a TV channel that they put posters on their homes to encourage their neighbours not to sell property to non-Hindus. They added that some new buyers were causing problems in the neighbourhood. “Many houses have been sold to outsiders, and the atmosphere in our locality has changed,” said one resident. “Property brokers often ask if we want to sell our houses. That’s why we decided to put up these posters.”
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Bhatta Basti police station, Kailash, confirmed the presence of the posters. He said that since people put up the posters in their homes and no one has filed a complaint, the police have not taken action. “Buying and selling property is a personal decision. There haven’t been any disputes reported over this matter,” the SHO added.
The posters in Hindi read: “An appeal to Sanatanis to stop migration. A request to all Sanatani brothers and sisters not to sell their house to non-Hindus.” The police also stated that they have not received any complaints so far.
It is high time Hindu Samaj remained alert and stopped the exodus by remaining united. The decision of the Samaj not to sell properties to non-Hindus is an important one, given reports of land and population jihad emerging from across the country. Demographics play an important role, and once there is a change in it, the true face of Islamist jihadis comes to the fore.
