Possibility of post-poll unrest? Here’s how Congressis & leftists are pushing for it

The members of the Congress party and their supporters have been indicating the possibility of a riot-like situation in the post-poll scenario. Following several such “warnings” and comments made by the Congress members and their supporters, BJP leaders/Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal met with the EC to ensure the counting process is carried out diligently. Speaking to the press, Goyal said, “Today, a delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party led by the Hon’ble Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioner to demand and urge the Election Commission to take 4 important steps. One, we have requested the Election Commission to ensure that every official engaged in the counting process is fully conversant with the minutest details of the prescribed process and engages diligently with all Election Commission of India’s counting protocols so there can be no deviation whatsoever from what has been provided.

Two, to ensure the safety and security of the electoral process during the counting and announcement of results, including enhanced monitoring and security measures to prevent any attempts at violence or unrest.

Three, to take cognisance of the systematic attempts to undermine the electoral process and take stringent action against those responsible.

Four, issue a public statement affirming the integrity of electoral process and warning against any attempts to disrupt the democratic process.”

What statements/comments/warnings were made by these Congress members and their supporters? Here are a few examples.

A channel named AAA Media is seen interviewing economist Parakala Prabhakar. The anchor, Neelu Vyas, is seen in a viral video where she says, “There are preparations for a big Jan Aandolan. This Jan Aandolan/mass movement will take place in a scenario where the “thief is caught”, and with this, a big movement (read protest) will be carried out. Several activists told me that the elections may be cancelled – there are several possibilities. But today, where I am, this Jawahar Bhavan, a big discussion is happening over all these issues. There was a similar event that was organised in Bengaluru.”

A few days ago, during the campaign, Congress scion Rahul Gandhi was seen saying, “I speak the truth and listen to my words carefully. If BJP wins the “match-fixing” elections and after that, if they change the Constitution, then fire will rage in this entire country. Remember what I said now. This country won’t be saved.”

When Rahul himself can give such warnings, what does it indicate?

Leftist mouthpiece, The Wire went on to create pieces like this article titled “Should BJP Face Defeat in Lok Sabha Polls, Can We Expect Peaceful Transfer of Power?”. It “critiques” the “political climate” in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, drawing parallels to authoritarian regimes. It claims that the Modi government has manipulated the electoral process to ensure victory, including freezing opposition party funds, jailing opposition leaders, and transforming investigative agencies into tools of the regime. The piece suggests that Modi’s calls for national unity (e.g., “one nation-one election”) are veiled attempts to centralise power and create a Hindu Rashtra, potentially leading to a dictatorship.

However, the article also notes the resilience of India’s diverse social, cultural, and political landscape, which resists such centralisation—the emergence of the I.N.D.I.Alliance coalition, led by the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi, has galvanised opposition against Modi, casting doubt on the certainty of his victory and raising questions about the peaceful transfer of power if the election results do not favour him.

Anti-Hindu supporters of Congress and their alliance want violence

Rabid Hindu hater and anti-Hindu activist Meena Kandasamy recently posted a provocative tweet on X, warning that India could experience significant violence if the BJP-led NDA alliance wins the elections on June 4th. Reacting to South African journalist Benjamin Fogel’s post on the South African elections, she wrote, “If the winner is anything other than non-biological, take it from me that we might witness something like this in India also.”

She claimed that exit polls are designed to demoralise the INDI alliance and undermine the democratic process, accusing the BJP of planning to manipulate postal votes. Kandasamy further expressed that citizens would resist and likened Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to the infamous criminals Ranga and Billa, asserting that people would “send them home.” She wrote, “Exit polls are psyops, meant not just to demoralise the INDIA alliance, but to help subvert the democratic process. Fascism hopes to fudge its way thru postal votes. On June 4, who will Mr Non-Bio channel? Trump? Bolsonaro? People will resist, theyll send Ranga Billa home”

It is noteworthy to remember that Kandasamy participated in the Dismantle Global Hindutva conference.

Adding to the narrative is a list of former High Court judges writing letters to the ECI concerned about the “way” the elections were conducted.

Now, with the voting underway, it is a matter of time how the Congress and leftists will accept the results and what kind of echoes it will have in the post-poll scenario.
