Chhattisgarh job scam: Aslam Khan arrested for cheating couple of ₹10 lakh with a fake government appointment letter

Kabirdham police have arrested a 39-year-old man from Rajnandgaon for duping a couple of ₹10 lakh on the pretext of securing them government jobs as Patwaris. As per Naidunia, the accused, identified as Islamist Aslam Khan, allegedly lured the victims with the promise of official appointments and even handed them a forged appointment order designed to mimic genuine government documents.

According to police, the victim, Gopeshwar Sahu, a resident of Gagaria Khamharia (Sahaspur Lohara police station), lodged a complaint on 6 January 2025 stating that Khan had taken the money in exchange for jobs for him and his wife. Initially booked under Section 420 Bharatiya Nyaya Samhitha for cheating, further investigation revealed the use of forged documents, leading to the addition of Sections 467, 468, and 471 Bharatiya Nyaya Samhitha.

Recognizing the seriousness of the offense, Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh formed a special team to trace the accused. Acting on intelligence, officers conducted raids at suspected hideouts and apprehended Khan in Rajnandgaon. Police seized a forged appointment letter, examination admit card, mobile phone, and other incriminating material from his possession.

During interrogation, Khan confessed to fabricating the appointment letter to gain the victims’ trust before disappearing with the money. He allegedly stalled them for months, only for the fraud to come to light when the documents were verified and found to be fake.

SP’s warning to the public

SP Dharmendra Singh stressed that cheating under the guise of offering government jobs is a grave offense and reiterated the police’s zero-tolerance policy towards such crimes. “No one should fall prey to such offers. Government appointments are made only through authorized recruitment processes. Any suspicious offer should be reported to the police immediately,” he said. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody, and further investigation is underway to determine if others were involved in the scam.

From forced conversions to job scams, Islamist orchestrators are engaging in every possible scam and fraud under the sky. Hindus must be aware of such things in the future.
