Jharkhand High Court orders the state to remove Illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from the Santhal Pargana region

The Jharkhand High Court has ordered the state government to remove illegal Bangladeshi immigrants who entered the state through the Santhal Pargana region.

A division bench of Justices Sujit Narayan Prasad and Arun Kumar Rai made this decision while hearing a petition filed by Daniel Danish. The court directed the deputy commissioners of Deoghar, Pakur, Dumka, Sahebgunj, Godda, and Jamtara to create an action plan to prevent further entry of refugees from Bangladesh.

The court also instructed the chief secretary to get involved and work with the deputy commissioners of the districts in Santhal Pargana. The judges noted that illegal immigrants are receiving benefits in the state, which needs to be stopped. They emphasized that the government must take steps to send these immigrants back to their country. The case will be heard again on July 18.

The court added that illegal immigration is not just a problem for a district or the state but for the entire country. The petitioner, Daniel Danish, expressed concerns that the area’s demographics could change significantly, affecting the tribal population of Santhal Pargana.
