Assam: The Police arrested four Afghan citizens, staying in Guwahati illegally since 2015

In a major operation, Hatigaon Police in Guwahati arrested four Afghan nationals for illegally residing in India. The arrests were made during a raid at a rented house near Little Flower School in the Hatigaon area.

The detainees have been identified as Aman Khan, Rizwan Khan, Yusuf Zahid, and Asif Rana. According to police sources, all four had been staying in Assam since 2015 without any valid documentation authorizing their stay in the country.

During the search operation, police recovered several objectionable and suspicious documents from their possession. Preliminary investigations suggest that the four Afghan nationals were running an unauthorized money-lending business in Guwahati.

A case has been registered under Hatigaon Police Station Case No. 112/25, and further investigation is currently underway to trace their activities and possible links.

The city police are now working to determine how the individuals entered the country and managed to stay undetected for so long.
