Gradually but steadily the situation in West Bengal is becoming like Bangladesh. In the past few months, attacks have been happening against the Hindus in different districts of West Bengal. A fresh case has happened in Mothabari of Maldah district.
This afternoon, Islamists mob suddenly gathered in the town area of the Mothabari. Hundreds of Islamists attacked the Hindu-owned shops. They also attacked and vandalised the cars on the road.
While some Islamists were attacking and vandalising the shops and cars, some of them were doing livestream on the Facebook. In those videos, Islamists were heard raising slogans like ‘Allahu Akbar’. The Islamists also raised hateful slogans against the Hindus.
In a viral video, a Muslim youth is saying(you can hear in the video): “We’ll not keep a single Hindu in Mothabari. We’ll put Jai Sri Ram in their as#”.
As the violence started spreading, massive police force reached the area. Initially, Islamists pelted stones and bricks towards the police forces. But, the Police soon dispersed the mob by firing tear gas. The police also did lathicharge.
As per the local sources, the Islamists were gathered through facebook posts. Islamists spread misinformation that Hindus has bursted firecrackers during the Namaz.
However, Hindu population is now living in fear in Mothabari and surrounding areas as Hindus are minority there.
