Strict action against ‘I Love Muhammad’ posters in Karnataka: ADGP Hitendra warns; HJS announces protest at DGP office over mob violence

Karnataka’s Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law and Order, Hitendra, has issued a stern warning that strict action will be taken against anyone displaying posters reading “I Love Muhammad.” He stated that such posters, which appeared in a few districts across the state, have already been removed by the police.

“We have ensured the immediate removal of these posters and have instructed officials to prevent any recurrence,” Hitendra said.

According to reports, two cases have been registered in Mandya district, and 11 individuals have been arrested in Belagavi in connection with the incident. Similar posters displayed in Kalaburagi were also promptly taken down, and eight more cases have been filed in Davanagere.

According to TV9 Kannada reports, Hitendra emphasized that the police are on high alert across the state to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain peace. “The law and order situation in Karnataka is completely under control. Anyone attempting to disturb communal harmony or disrupt public order will face strict legal consequences without any leniency,” he asserted.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s efforts lead to Police crackdown

The recent police action against the controversial ‘I Love Muhammad‘ posters across Karnataka comes in the wake of strong protests and persistent efforts by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and allied Hindu organizations. It was through their continuous pressure and awareness campaigns that authorities were compelled to act swiftly. HJS spokesperson Mohan Gowda announced that under the banner of Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti, a delegation will meet the Karnataka DGP on Friday, October 10, at 12 PM, at the DGP Office, Nrupathunga Road, Bengaluru, to lodge a strong protest against the ‘I Love Muhammad‘ mob violence and intimidation targeting Hindus.

These Hindu organizations have been instrumental in exposing the appeasement-driven silence over provocative acts carried out under religious slogans. Their firm stance has ensured that law enforcement agencies take note of the growing Islamic communal provocations and act decisively to maintain order. The courage and unity shown by such Hindu groups have sent a clear message that Hindus will not remain silent spectators when Islamists target them for expressing their identity or faith.

At this crucial juncture, it is imperative for local Hindus to stand in solidarity with organizations like HJS and the Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti. Their relentless activism and commitment to justice have safeguarded community dignity and ensured accountability.

The ‘I Love Muhammad‘ poster campaign is a well-orchestrated strategy by radical Islamist elements aimed at creating unrest and communal tension during Hindu festivals. By invoking the name of an imaginary, self-proclaimed character as a symbol of provocation, these groups are attempting to test the patience of peaceful Hindu communities and disturb public harmony. Reports by Hindu Post already highlighted how such tactics, similar to the ‘Love Jihad‘ and ‘I Love Muhammad’ slogans that surfaced recently in Sonipat, Haryana, are being deployed across regions to mock Hindu beliefs and provoke reactions. This pattern clearly exposes an organized attempt to defile sacred Hindu celebrations, incite violence, and manipulate public sentiments.
