Scheduled Caste girl allegedly abducted and converted by a married Islamist, father of four, from Meerut: Muzaffarnagar, UP

A case of alleged abduction and religious conversion has emerged from the Budhana area of Muzaffarnagar. A 19-year-old girl belonging to a Scheduled Caste community was allegedly lured and taken away by an Islamist man. The accused, identified as a resident of Panchli Burjurg in Meerut, is reported to be married and a father of four children. The matter has raised concerns of forced conversion and love jihad under the guise of marriage.

Accused claims nikah, raising conversion concerns

As per Jagran reports, after the girl went missing, the accused Islamist released a video claiming that he had performed a nikah with her. This has intensified apprehensions that the girl may have been coerced into illegal religious conversion to Islam through Love Jihad. The girl’s family maintains she left home with ₹6,000 in cash and silver ornaments after being manipulated.

Complaint filed; family demands action

The girl’s father lodged an FIR on 23 October at Budhana police station, alleging that his daughter was misled and abducted by unknown persons. However, when immediate action did not follow, local Hindu groups expressed concern. The father even went to the accused’s village to request the girl’s return, but the accused Islamist and his associates refused to comply.

Swami Yashveer condemns the incident as Love Jihad

Swami Yashveer, head of Yog Sadhana Ashram, has strongly condemned the incident, calling it a clear case of love jihad and forced conversion. He claimed that two Islamist youths from the girl’s own village were also involved in facilitating the abduction. He demanded strict action under the Uttar Pradesh anti-conversion law, not only against the primary accused but also against the cleric who allegedly performed the nikah.

Swami Yashveer warned that if authorities fail to act swiftly, Hindu organizations will launch a protest outside the house of the accused. He emphasized that such incidents are part of a larger pattern aimed at targeting vulnerable Hindu girls, particularly those from economically or socially weaker communities.

The girl recovered from Jabalpur, two detained

A police team formed to trace the girl recovered her safely from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Two suspects who were in contact with the accused Islamists have been detained for questioning. Circle Officer Budhana, Gajendra Pal Singh, stated that additional sections will be added to the FIR, and strict legal action will be taken against all those found involved.

These incidents highlight a clear and disturbing pattern in which girls belonging to Scheduled Caste and economically vulnerable Hindu families are being specifically targeted. Islamist grooming networks strategically exploit financial hardship, emotional vulnerability, and social marginalization to lure victims through promises of marriage, support, or companionship, ultimately pushing them into forced religious conversion. Recent exposures in Muzaffarnagar, Deoria (UP), and Nuh (Haryana), where minor Hindu girls from SC, OBC, and even Brahmin families were trapped and, in some cases, sent outside the country, show that this is not an isolated crime but a coordinated system of predatory conversion. These patterns underline the urgent need for strict enforcement of anti-conversion laws, early education on grooming risks, and community-level vigilance to protect vulnerable women and families.
