India Today debates 100 years of RSS: Who is divisive?

In an India Today TV debate, Shri Prafull Ketkar and Shri Tushar Gandhi discussed RSS ideology. It was appropriate to criticize, but if you have a pathological hatred for something that does not fit your ideology, you employ poisonous language that is ill-informed, much like a wayward missile. This is what Mr Tushar Gandhi accomplished in a half-hour talk, despite Shri Prafull Ketkar’s pro-Bharatiya thought process and support for RSS doctrine and activities over the last 100 years.

Let us comprehend who divides and has harmed the nation.

Though communism was established far earlier in other nations, it began in India about the same time as RSS. Its roots expanded quickly while Sangh struggled to expand its reach. By 1960, communism had spread to two-thirds of the world, but the Sangh had only reached a few states. Now that both have reached 100 years old, communists are dying, while the Sangh has grown exponentially and spread to over 70 countries, with over fifty major organizations operating in various sectors and millions of Swayamsevaks serving for the national cause. Can Mr Tushar Gandhi investigate and analyse why this has happened?

Communism killed almost 100 million people worldwide in the twentieth century, a statistic that is disputed but largely recognized, more than the total number of people killed in World Wars I and II combined. They have also caused bleeding in India. Since 1996, Maoists gifted by communists have killed around 8000 people and 3000 army personnel in India. They also believe the Islamic insurrection to be a “fight against imperialism,” which explains why the Left sympathizes with the terrorists who kill soldiers in Kashmir.

Communists developed these people, and the slogans expressed in JNU represent their ultimate purpose. They will term it disagreement, which is a deception; how can shouts for dividing India be considered dissent? They do not want the army to have an unrestricted hand in dealing with terrorists. They have successfully isolated themselves from Maoists, to the point where most people are unaware that Maoists are also Communists. In universities, they preach of liberation, but their designs are more evil than you might suppose; under the guise of liberation, there is blood and death.

Partition of India – This was the first time Congress government broke India. Gandhiji opposed partition. The split was chaotic, with many cities, including Chittagong in Bangladesh, handed to Pakistan despite having a Hindu majority. The split was followed by Direct Action Day, an anti-Hindu genocide perpetrated by Jinnah’s Muslim League. Following partition, up to 10 lakh people were killed in riots, leaving lakhs homeless. The deceptive humanitarian communists and socialists in India have never called this catastrophe into question. Who is divisive?

Article 370 – Article 370 granted unique privileges to Jammu and Kashmir in violation of the Constitution. Article 370 was pro-Pakistan and against our holy constitution, yet Congress and communists consistently supported it and never attempted to repeal it. It was supposed to be temporary; Dr. Ambedkar and many others opposed it, but Prime Minister Nehru insisted on keeping it. Because of 370, the rest of Indians were unable to settle in Jammu and Kashmir. They had their own rules, and hardly no Indian Act was applicable in the state. The reason why separatism and terrorism thrived, and when the BJP government abolished this article, the Congress, communists, and many other parties opposed the move. Who is divisive?

Communist and Islamist appeasement – Many opposition political parties have benefited from votebank politics. Today, certain parties have mastered this and are executing it better than Congress, but it all started with Congress. A permanent schism was created between Hindus and Muslims. Communists were appointed to all major positions, including academic institutes and other positions of importance. According to ex-communist Piyush Mishra, communists will make Hindus ashamed of their culture and values, while promoting Islamic culture. Even most communist historians celebrated and concealed Islamic invaders’ savagery. This resulted in the brainwashing of many youth across generations and the establishment of a communal thought process throughout. India is the only country where culprits and mass murderers are lauded in historical records by communist. Who is divisive?

A divisive politics is constantly consolidated by communists. As seen in the past, Hindu unity benefits all religions. Hindu unity promotes peace in the country and the world, but communists view it as a threat to their existence. They are wary of Hindu organizations because of this. All around the world, the communist policies have been shown to be unsuccessful. They can only gain support by instilling fear in their base of supporters. In an attempt to expand their base of support, they specifically target Christians and Muslims. Since Muslims are a far more cohesive group, it is simple to get their support by making them feel persecuted and like victims. In many locations, communists work alongside missionaries. As conversion rates rise, more people become estranged from their own culture, which expands the pool of possible communist supporters.

In addition to ignoring Muslim personal laws, the Congress also backed them, despite the fact that their flaws were exposed, as demonstrated in the Shah Bano case. Despite the fact that numerous personal laws violate our sacred constitution, the Congress never attempted to outlaw triple talaq, polygamy, or Nikah Halala for Muslims. Congress and communists opposed Dr. Ambedkar’s planned Uniform Civil Code. Through the pro-Caliph Khilafat movement, which had nothing to do with India, the Congress backed the Caliph in 1921 when Turkey rejected him and demanded democracy. Who is divisive?

As evidenced by their vocal and vociferous support of the Tehrik-e-Pakistan Islamist secessionist movement in the 1940s, which divided a third of our country to create a fiercely hostile state in our living space, they detested the idea of India as a single, cohesive nation on the subcontinent. They treated the Indian population in what was left of India with a contempt that was not all that different from that of the colonial rulers of India who had left. They showed no pride in our country’s history and were unable to recognize the resilience, ingenuity, forbearance, and triumphant journey of the Indian people, who have faced numerous hardships and disappointments over the past millennium.

How the Modi government and RSS are attempting to bring society together

Religion is not a problem for RSS. The RSS adheres to the ideas of Bharatiyatva, which states that anyone who opposes the nation or Bharatiyatva, regardless of their religious affiliation, should be dealt with harshly in accordance with laws established by the constitution. What’s wrong with an ideology that encourages each person to put the nation first? The last 11 years unequivocally demonstrate that Dr. Ambedkar’s goals of social and economic advancement for the Dalits, Adivasis, the impoverished, and other minorities were fulfilled by Prime Minister Modi, who is regarded as an adherent of the RSS ideology in government. Even Modi’s detractors cannot ignore the progress made over the past 11 years in enlisting every citizen in the growth drive. With overall progress and cultural nationalism, the eastern region of India, which was mostly neglected for the first 67 years following independence, is now a proud part of a nation. The Modi government’s numerous programs make it abundantly evident that all social classes gain from their collaboration with “Saba Sath, Sabka Vikas.”

Noted journalist Kushwant Singh, who had previously been openly critical of the RSS, said that the RSS was instrumental in assisting Sikhs in huge numbers when killers went on a spree to kill them in Delhi during the heinous 1984 anti-Sikh riots, in which even government apparatus failed.

During the 1962 Sino-Indian War, the RSS made significant contributions. Swayamsevaks from all across the nation gathered in the northeast of Bharat to assist both the army and the villagers during those difficult times. Their dedicated commitment was honored by the entire nation when then-Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru invited the RSS to participate in the Bharatiya Republic Day parade in 1963.

International recognition of Goa, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli as Portuguese territory persisted even after independence. The RSS opposed the colonists’ reluctance to leave Bharatiya Territory and took part in campaigns to decolonize these areas. To liberate Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the RSS teamed up with the Azad Gomantak Dal (AGD) and the National Movement Liberation Organization (NMLO) in April 1954. Leaders of the RSS called for Goa’s independence from Portugal and incorporation into Bharat in 1955. The Satyagraha agitation was conducted directly into Goa by RSS leader Jagannath Rao Joshi after Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru declined to allow an armed intervention. The Portuguese police put him and his supporters in jail. The nonviolent demonstrations persisted, but they were violently suppressed. The areas of Naroli and Phiparia, as well as the capital of Silvassa, were taken by volunteer teams from the RSS and AGD.

Even now, in the event of man-made disasters like the Bhopal gas tragedy, the Assam riots, the train accidents in different parts, or natural disasters like the Tamil Nadu tsunami, Gujarat earthquake, Andhra Pradesh floods, or Uttarakhand floods, Kashmir floods, RSS swayamsevaks are the first to reach those in need without seeing religion, caste, creed.

According to Supreme Court Justice K. T Tomas, “If an organisation has to be given credit for freeing the nation from the Emergency, I would give that to the RSS.” Also stated that the RSS instills discipline in its Swayamsevaks in order to “protect the nation.” I admire the RSS’s teaching and belief that physical strength is intended to protect oneself from threats. I understand that RSS’s physical training is intended to defend the nation and society during times of attack.

Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram has built up its presence in almost every nook and corner of tribal Bharat serving through hospitals, schools, hostels, balwadis, adult education centers and various other humanitarian activities. From Andamans to Leh and from Arunachal to Nilgiri hills, there is a wide network of dedicated workers, men and women alike, who have silently brought about deep changes in the lives of the tribals.

Ironically, while certain colonial’scholars’ and anthropologists continued to label various tribes as ‘criminal tribes’, ‘head hunters’, and so on, aggressive proselytizers contemptuously referred to them as heathens and pagans, posing themselves as the sole emancipators of their’sinful’ souls.

However, RSS and other allied organizations demonstrated the true history of tribals and how they supported Prabhu Ram and Krishna. Their war against the British rule and injustice. Every year, tribal freedom fighters are recalled and honored with reverence. Society must clearly perceive that colonials and communists have always despised and degraded tribals, whereas the Sangh and its affiliates have always treated them as brothers and sisters.

Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram promotes the well-being of Janjatis (Adivasis) through a range of humanitarian activities throughout Bharat. Out of 397 tribal districts, 338 have various initiatives to help indigenous people. Work is being done in 52323 villages to enhance people’s lives, with more villages to be included in the future. Aside from economic activities, local culture is encouraged and promoted. The goal of Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram is to work for the complete development of each tribal brother and sister. In addition, other sports facilities are being built in various locations.

Sewa Bharti

Rashtriya Sewa Bharati, a social service organization inspired by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), manages over 35,000 projects aimed at improving healthcare, education, and employability for the underprivileged in urban slums, remote areas, and tribal communities. The organization was founded in 1989 after Balasaheb Deoras, the third RSS Sarsanghchalak, called a meeting in Delhi in 1979 to establish an organization that would solely work with the poor and vulnerable in the areas of healthcare and education.

Conclusion

The hatemongers and so-called intellectuals should research the ideologies they adhere to and consider the reasons behind their ideas’ gradual decline. They should participate in Sangh’s activities for a few months or a year if they truly want to comprehend the Sangh. After that, they will be free to express their opinions in public, whether favorable or unfavorable.
