Attempt to defile Hindu festivities: ‘I Love Muhammad’ and ‘Love Jihad’ slogans surface in Sonipat, Haryana

In a brazen attempt to provoke communal tensions, Islamist miscreants desecrated Shri Ram Park on Murthal Road by scrawling offensive slogans like ‘I Love Mohammed’ and ‘Love Jihad’ on swings and benches. The incident, discovered early morning by the park gardener Narendra, immediately drew attention from locals, who were outraged at this assault on Hindu sentiments.

As per Jagran reports, Hindu organizations swiftly mobilized, with Manjeet, head of Rakshak, highlighting that the slogans were deliberately timed during the concluding day of Navratri and the auspicious festival of Dussehra, periods of deep religious significance for Hindus. He condemned the act as a calculated attempt to undermine Hindu social and religious reforms.

Police responded promptly, erasing the slogans and dispersing the growing crowd. Investigations are underway, with CCTV footage from nearby areas being scrutinized to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Advocate Ramdhan Sharma has filed a formal complaint demanding strict legal action against those responsible.

Narendra Pal Sharma, Department Satsang Head of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), expressed strong displeasure over the incident, warning that such actions could lead to communal tension. He stated that a formal complaint has been submitted to the authorities to ensure that those attempting to disrupt harmony are identified and punished.

Mayor Rajiv Jain also visited the park after learning about the incident. He said that by writing slogans of a particular religion in a public park, miscreants have attempted to spread religious hatred and unrest. He urged the police to identify the perpetrators and take strict legal action against them.

Savit Kumar, Incharge of Police Station Sector-27, confirmed that the matter is under active investigation and assured that the accused would face consequences.

The incident has deeply hurt Hindu sentiments, reinforcing the need for vigilance against efforts to disrupt Hindu religious harmony and festivals.

In sum, phrases such as ‘I Love Muhammad’ and ‘Love Jihad,’ while superficially innocuous, are increasingly repurposed as tactical tools by Islamist extremist elements to provoke communal tensions. As the HinduPost article outlines, the I Love Muhammad campaign is a deliberate ideological provocation masked as devotional messaging, creating psychological pressure, signaling dominance, and testing societal boundaries, all to normalize aggressive postures and build momentum for violent outbreaks. When erected in public spaces, especially during Hindu festivals or near sacred sites, these slogans act as provocations designed to undermine confidence, stir outrage, and instigate reactive clashes.

Bharat, a nation rooted in its culturally rich and dharmic Hindu heritage, cannot tolerate deliberate attempts to disrupt its social harmony. The intentional display of slogans like ‘I Love Muhammad‘, ‘Love Jihad‘ or Islamist flags in public spaces under the guise of expression is unacceptable. Bringing up imaginary or provocative religious figures like Muhammad is a calculated act aimed at creating unrest and communal discord. Such actions reflect clear anti-Hindu and politically motivated agendas. Authorities must take this pattern seriously and enact strict legal measures against Islamist perpetrators who attempt to disturb the peace and insult the nation’s spiritual and cultural fabric.
