West Bengal: Islamic radicals attacked Hindu village in Murshidabad, houses vandalised

A day after Eid Al Adha, Hindu villagers are attacked in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Armed with sticks and sharp weapons, Islamic radicals attacked a Hindu village. Houses and shops belonging to the Hindu community were broken.

As per the locals, Malancha village is under the jurisdiction of the Samsherganj Police Station. Yesterday, on the day of Eid, some local Muslims tried to slaughter a cow in the land. The land owner was a Hindu. So he and his neighbours resisted the slaughter attempt.

Local Hindus said that some Islamic radicals threatened them after they were unsuccessful in slaughtering.

This morning, on the 18th of June, Islamic radicals attacked the Malancha village. Armed with sharp weapons and sticks, they vandalised several houses in the village. They also vandalised a few shops belonging to the Hindus and looted from them.

Sources said that later, a force from the Samsherganj Police Station reached the village and controlled the situation.

Notably, Hindus are a minority in the Murshidabad district. Islamists regularly attack the Hindu minorities of the district.
