In the name of protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill, violence against the Hindu minorities in Murshidabad district continues. On Saturday, 12th of April, violence erupted in several areas of Samserganj of Murshidabad district. During the violence, two Hindus were killed in Jafrabad area.
The deceased persons have been identified as Hargovinda Das and his son Chandan Das. They were sculptures and used to make Pratimas and Murtis for Puja.
According to the received information, this morning, armed Islamists attacked Jafrabad village. Vandalism and loot went for nearly half an hour.
Later, BSF forces and local police went to the area. They found the bodies of Hargovinda Das and his son Chandan Das.

Some locals said that they were brutally murdered. Their faces were partly smashed by some heavy objects and their throats were slit.
BJP leader and the leader of Opposition, Sri Suvendu Adhikari shared the photos of the father and son in his official ‘X’ handle and targeted the TMC-led Mamata Banerjee government for the failure law and order.
