Muslim women take 2 lakhs each and get married pretending to be Hindus, then run away threatening husband with fake rape case: Rajgarh, MP

In Madhya Pradesh’s (MP) Rajgarh, two Hindu men married two women from Bihar. In exchange, the women’s families took 2 lakh rupees each from the men. But both the women did not stay even for a week. Threatening to implicate their husbands in a rape case, they ran away with their families.

Reportedly, a broker arranged the marriage of Prem Singh, a resident of Sultania village in Rajgarh district and Mukesh, a resident of a nearby town in Bihar. The broker took Rs 2 lakh each from Prem Singh and Mukesh. After this, both were married in Bihar according to Hindu rituals. Later, it was revealed that the girls were Muslims.

Statement by the victim and the police (ETV Bharat)

Muslim women dupe Hindu men

45-year-old Prem Singh, a resident of Sultania village in Rajgarh district, has been married for over ten years. As he had begotten no child even after so many years of marriage, Prem Singh and his wife mutually decided that Singh should get married again. On the other hand, 30-year-old Mukesh, a resident of Naraniya village in Rajgarh, lost his wife a year ago. Mukesh also needed a second life partner.

A marriage broker, Hemraj, a resident of Khilchipur village in the district, showed them the photos of two girls for their second marriage. Both the girls were from Rohtas district in Bihar. Their marriage was fixed for Rs 2 lakh each. Last Monday (15 July 2024), both of them got married in a temple in Rohtas according to Hindu customs. After the marriage, both the couples came to their home in Rajgarh.

Threat of filing fake rape case against husbands

Reportedly, Prem Singh’s newly-wed wife was running away from home with a young man on Thursday, three days after the marriage. The villagers caught both of them and handed them over to Prem Singh. The newlywed bride started threatening Prem Singh of implicating him in a fake rape case and started pressuring him to cancel the marriage deal. At the same time, the second bride married in Naraniya village also threatened her husband Mukesh of implicating him in a false rape case and also pressured him to cancel the marriage deal.

Seeing the matter escalated, both the couples reached Udankhedi police station, where broker Hemraj was called, but he shrugged off the responsibility of getting them married. Fearing the brides’ threat of implicating them in fake rape cases, both the couples mutually agreed to separate. The documents of the women found at the homes revealed that they were Muslims and not Hindus.

Compromise made by the two parties (ETV Bharat)

It was also decided that the women would never file any case against the men and would not demand money from them. After this case entered the public domain, many questions were raised against the police. It was said that the whole case was related to a gang of “Looteri dulhan” (cheating brides), and the police did not take appropriate action against the women. The police were also accused of taking money and letting them go.

Police release a video and clarify the situation

To clarify the allegations against the police, the outpost in-charge, Sandeep Soni, issued a video and denied these allegations. The outpost in-charge said, “Both the parties have reached a compromise with mutual consent. Due to this, the police did not act against any party. Accusations of the police taking money to settle the case are completely baseless.”
