Tripura: 7 Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators are arrested in Agartala, planning to go to Chennai

In a coordinated effort led by the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and Tripura police, seven individuals hailing from Bangladesh were apprehended at the Agartala railway station. The arrests were made just as the group was preparing to board the Kanchenjunga Express bound for Chennai.

The individuals apprehended all hail from the Bagerhat district of Bangladesh. Their names are as follows: Easin Hawlader (44), Mohammad Hasan (20), Sukur Ali Hawlader (19), Farjana Akhtar (20), Rumi Begam (21) accompanied by her daughter Mariam (10 months), Nayan Hossain (25), and Md Matiur Mandal (26).

During the primary interrogation, arrested Bangladeshi citizens confessed that they they had entered Bharat illegally.

Tripura has a long border with Bangladesh. In many parts, due to natural barriers, there are no fencing. Usually, infiltrators use those gaps to enter into Bharat. In recent years, thousands of Muslim infiltrators from Bangladesh were arrested from the Agartala Railway Station. Experts think that some gangs are active in Tripura to bring people from Bangladesh. They are using Agartala Railway Station to send people to the big cities like Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Delhi.
