Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad resident Sushil Kumar Sharma accused Faisal Khan of using coercive tactics to brainwash his wife into converting to Islam. An FIR was registered with the Kavi Nagar Police station on August 23. Sushil Kumar highlighted the series of events where Khan attempted to deliberately break away Sushil Kumar’s wife from her family.
Sushil reported that his 48-year-old wife, who has been a teacher at Santanary Public School in Shastri Nagar for 13 years, began exhibiting unusual behaviour after she started interacting with Faisal Khan, a computer teacher at the same school. On November 20, 2023, she suddenly disappeared from their home but was later found near Govindpuran on Hapur Road, close to Faisal’s residence. Then, on January 28, 2024, she went missing again and was discovered in a distressed and disoriented state near Ghaziabad’s Dudeshwar Nath Temple.
Furthermore, the complainant stated that Khan was behind his wife’s disappearance and had manipulated his wife into applying for a job in Gujarat’s Rajkot without the Sharma family’s knowledge. He added that the police failed to investigate the matter thoroughly.
The police facilitated a settlement between the parties, during which Khan admitted in the settlement document to arranging a job for Sharma’s wife without her husband’s knowledge. However, Sushil stated that Khan’s involvement in his wife’s life did not end there. Despite the settlement, Khan continued to maintain contact with her.
The complaint further notes that his wife’s behaviour only worsened after the settlement. She cut off communication with her maternal and marital family, stopped visiting Mandirs, and stopped wearing bangles and bindi. Sushil Kumar further informed the police that his children had seen their mother in an Islamic prayer position and found handwritten slips in her possession with Arabic transliterated into Hindi.
Additionally, Sushil Kumar discovered a phone in his wife’s possession registered in Khan’s name, which she was using to stay in touch with him. When Sushil Kumar examined the phone, he found several documents transliterated into Arabic, along with photos of cemeteries and suspicious land images. He also noticed that his wife had been extensively searching for information on the Arabic language and prayers on Google. According to Sushil Kumar, Khan had even set up a new Gmail account in his wife’s name.
In his complaint, Sushil stated that he received two letters containing derogatory remarks about his wife, urging him to throw her out of the house. The first letter arrived on December 8, 2023, and the second on August 6, 2024. Both letters contained false accusations against his wife. Sushil Kumar expressed fear over these letters, telling the police that he was concerned his family might be attacked. As a result, they have been staying indoors and working from home.
He further alleged that Khan and his accomplices attempted to brainwash his wife and convert her to Islam. He claimed that Khan’s true objective was not to take his wife with him but to ruin her family. Sushil Kumar added that his wife’s condition had deteriorated to the point where she now resembled a mental patient and was undergoing treatment. He believed that Khan’s actions were intended to destroy her mental health.
He emphasized that his wife once led a stable and happy life, but she has now been manipulated and pushed down a dark path. The sudden change in her behaviour and repeated instances of distress made him fear that her life, as well as his family’s peace, was at serious risk.
This case highlights how the Islamic conversion mafia is destroying Hindu lives and families.
