Minor Hindu girl held captive for 3 years, gang-raped, forced religious conversion in Prayagraj: Mohammad Alam, Atif, Mumtaz arrested, identity changed on Aadhaar card as well

A shocking case of gang-rape and forced religious conversion involving a minor orphan Hindu girl has come to light in Prayagraj, with several arrests made as the investigation unfolds.

Background of the Incident – Prolonged Abuse and Captivity

The events occurred in the Ghoorpur police station area of Prayagraj district. Reports state that about a year ago, Mohammad Alam, a resident of a neighboring village called Ubhaari, took the minor Hindu girl and her 10-year-old younger brother from their village on the pretext of finding them work. While they were made to work at a local roadside eatery for some time, the girl was soon kidnapped and held captive at the accused’s home, where her ordeal began.

According to the survivor, she was drugged and injected with sedatives before being repeatedly gang-raped by the accused and accomplices, including Mumtaz Alam) and others. This continued for nearly a year. The victim ultimately managed to escape and reach her village, where she revealed the details of the horrific abuse and captivity to her family.

Forced Conversion and Identity Falsification

Police reports and media coverage indicate the accused also forced the girl to convert her religion. Her Aadhaar card was allegedly altered to change her name and identity, further isolating her from her original community and attempting to erase her past. Local religious and social organizations, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, demanded swift action from authorities in response to the revelation of these details.

Police Action and Arrests

On the complaint of the survivor’s relatives, the Ghoorpur police registered a case under charges of kidnapping, gang-rape, human trafficking, and violations of anti-conversion laws. Police arrested Mohammad Alam, his wife Rehnuma Bano, and Mumtaz Alam, while another accused, Atif, was apprehended later. Investigations continue as authorities seek to identify and catch all suspected accomplices.

The survivor’s younger brother, who had gone missing during the ordeal, has reportedly now been traced. Police officials assured that efforts are being made to bring him home safely and provide the necessary support and counseling services to both siblings.

Public Outrage and Social Impact

The incident triggered significant outrage in the region. Local residents and Hindu social organizations have demanded harsh punishments for the offenders and a deeper probe into possible networks involved in such crimes. Preliminary findings suggest some accused may have been repeat offenders, and the investigation into broader criminal links continues.

This disturbing case from Prayagraj highlights the serious issues of child safety, human trafficking, and forced religious conversion by Islamists in parts of Bharat. Authorities say the ongoing investigation aims at ensuring justice for the survivor and her family, as well as disrupting any wider criminal operations involved in such offences. The incident underscores the urgent need for strong monitoring mechanisms, speedy judicial processes, and community awareness to prevent such tragedies in the future.
