A serious case hatred towards the Hindus has been unfurled from the Kolkata town of West Bengal where a Hindu girl faced death threat from a Muslim cab driver only for playing Hanuman Chalisa on her phone. After receiving the complaint from the victim girl, the Police immediately arrested the accused driver. The arrested driver has been identified as Muhammad Irfan.
The incident occurred on the evening of 9th of May, 2025. The Hindu girl booked a cab through ‘Indrive app’ to return to her home. The driver came on time and their journey started.
During the journey, the girl was watching reels on her phone. While scrolling, a reel came on her phone with ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. Hearing ‘Hanuman Chalisa’, the driver became angry and ordered the girl to stop it. When the girl denied, the accused driver Muhammad Irfan allegedly threatened to murder her. The girl also alleged that the driver tried to take her to a different location. The girl mentioned that the driver threatened to take her to his locality. Somehow, the girl managed to escape.
However, the filed a written complaint in the Shakespeare Sarani Police Station against the accused cab driver. The police immediately launched an investigation and arrested the accused driver Muhammad Irfan.
Meanwhile, the app company ‘Indrive’ has not released any statement about this incident. Although, netizens are demanding that security checks should be a must before engaging drivers. While others are advising that women must be careful while using app cab.
