A disturbing case of alleged sexual harassment of schoolgirls has shaken Karnataka’s Haveri district, once again highlighting the role of vigilant local communities in protecting children when institutional safeguards fail. As per TV9 Kannada reports, in Savanur town, a government Urdu high school teacher accused of repeatedly harassing minor girls was confronted by enraged parents and residents after the victims courageously spoke out, triggering widespread outrage.
According to police sources, the accused was employed at the Government Urdu Higher Primary School in Savanur. The allegations surfaced after girls informed their parents about the abuse they were allegedly subjected to over a period of time. The revelations sparked immediate anger among families, who accused the authorities and school management of failing to ensure the safety and dignity of children entrusted to the education system.
Parents and local residents gathered at the school, pulled the accused teacher out, and publicly confronted him. The accused was paraded through the streets with a garland of slippers before being handed over to the Savanur Police Station. The act reflected deep public anger against crimes targeting minors and a zero-tolerance stance toward sexual abuse.
Police officials confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody and that a case has been registered. A senior officer stated that statements are being recorded and a detailed investigation is underway. At the same time, authorities said they are also examining videos of the public assault, underscoring the legal complexities arising when public fury erupts due to perceived administrative inaction.
The Islamist assault on minors, forcing them to celebrate Eid in school and forcing students to follow Islam, is not new; whether in Urdu schools or religious spaces where the Quran is taught, multiple cases of sexual abuse against minor girls and even boys have been recorded across different parts of Bharat. These are not isolated incidents but rather reflect a dangerous, recurring pattern rooted in a hardened ideological mindset that exploits positions of trust. The real question is, who will protect children from such predators? Silence, denial, and bootlicking in the name of secularism or fear are utterly useless. Until strict action replaces appeasement, children will continue to pay the price.
