Islamist mob attacks Abhilash and family: Belluru, K’taka

In a serious incident that occurred in Nagamangala of Mandya’s Belluru town, an Islamist mob attacked the home of a Hindu family, causing significant damage and creating a tense atmosphere in the area. According to a Public TV report, the attack took place on May 27, and the police are currently investigating to determine the cause and ensure the safety of the residents.

The incident reportedly began with an altercation on Saturday (May 25) between Abhilash, a member of the Hindu family, and two Islamist youths over a minor issue involving a bike overtaking. On Saturday, a group of Islamist youths drove a car at high speed through Santhe Street in Belluru town. During an overtaking manoeuvre, their car brushed against a bike.

Abhilash, who was later attacked, along with his companion Nagesh, questioned the youths about their reckless driving. This led to a minor verbal altercation. Holding a grudge from this incident, the Islamist youths returned with a larger group and attacked Abhilash and his family. The Islamist assailants, allegedly armed with deadly weapons, forced their way into the house and threatened the residents.

Are we living in Pakistan?

Abhilash, who sustained injuries during the attack, is currently receiving treatment at Adichunchanagiri Hospital. The violent outbreak prompted local villagers to stage a protest outside the Belluru Police Station, demanding immediate action against the Islamist perpetrators. Ladies from the family and village raised their voices in protest against the police and angrily questioned, “Are we living in Bharat or Pakistan?”

Women from the community expressed their outrage, questioning safety and security. The protest saw hundreds of villagers, including women, gathered outside the police station to voice their concerns and demand justice. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) has assured the villagers that appropriate measures will be taken against those responsible. The situation remains tense as the authorities investigate the incident.

This is not the first time Islamists have shown their extremist behaviour against Hindus. There have been several cases where Hindus were attacked for questioning the ruthless behaviour of Islamists. Last week, three different incidents from various parts of Karnataka were reported, involving Islamists in gang wars, attacks against Hindus, and stone-pelting. The Hindu community is feeling insecure due to this radical Islamism and terrorism.
