In Dehgam, Hindu youth were taking out a victory procession after Bharat’s victory, when suddenly a Muslim mob attacked them near the ‘Ugmanovas Moti Masjid’ in the ‘Kasba’ area by pelting stones. An FIR has been registered following the incident and some Muslim accused have also been arrested.
When the rally passed near the mosque in the Ugmano residential area of Dahegam, two communities came face to face and stone pelting took place. More than eight vehicles were vandalized, creating an atmosphere of fear and tension in the area. In this regard, the Dahegam police have registered a complaint from both sides and taken action.
According to the details of the incident, on Sunday (March 9), after India’s victory, Hindus were taking out a victory procession in Gandhinagar’s Dahegam. During that time, people were also chanting slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. When the victory procession reached near the ‘Ugmanovas Moti Masjid’ in the ‘Kasba’ area, a Muslim mob started pelting stones at it. During this, it has also come to light that several vehicles were also vandalized.
Apart from this, 3 Hindu youths were also injured in the stone pelting. They were immediately shifted to Gandhinagar Hospital. The Hindu youth Dhaval Mistry, who was injured in the stone pelting, had lodged a complaint at the Dehgam police station. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused Mohammad, Arbaaz Khan, Ovesh, Sajid Hussain, Wasim, Mohammad Toufiq, Sanjay, Mohammad Irfan and Nasir Khan along with an unknown group of 6. Allegations of attack by Muslim mob near Ugmanovas big mosque
According to the complaint of Dhaval Mistry, a resident of Nandol Laxmipura Kampa in Dehgam, yesterday, after the victory in the match against India-New Zealand, there was a sound of firecrackers bursting in the city. Hearing the sound of celebration, Dhaval took his neighbor’s bike and went to Sardar Shopping in Dehgam. A bike rally was started because the Indian cricket team won. The rally reached near the Dehgam big mosque at around 10.45 pm. The people participating in the rally made the sound of racing their vehicles. Hearing this, the fifteen or so people sitting there got agitated. They started cursing and shouting, asking why they had come here. At that time, two or three other people ran with sticks and vandalized the vehicles. Dhaval has filed a complaint against nine people in the case of vandalism and attack on 8 bikes.

According to the FIR, the complainant Dhaval Mistry joined the bike rally of the victory procession by taking his friend’s bike in the joy of India’s victory. The rally reached the Muslim town at around 11 pm. At that place, a Muslim crowd was sitting near the Ugmanovas Big Mosque. The complaint states that the crowd was agitated due to the noise of the racing cars and attacked them by asking, ‘Why have you come here?’ Along with this, it is alleged that the Muslim crowd also abused the people who were celebrating the victory.
It is further said that after this incident, two or three other Muslims arrived with sticks in their hands and broke into the rally. During which seven or eight bikes were also vandalized. According to the FIR, after this incident, the complainant got scared and started running away leaving the bike there. During this, he got injured. After which other Hindus present at the spot put him in a rickshaw and sent him to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital. According to the doctor, the complainant’s leg has been fractured.
The complainant is undergoing treatment, some accused have been arrested.
According to reports by OpIndia, the brother of the victim and complainant said that the complainant is currently undergoing treatment. Along with this, he said that he is alone in the hospital and is getting his brother treated. It is learnt that the complainant’s brother Rahul is currently in the hospital with the victim. Along with this, he has also asked to provide specific information regarding the incident later. The report will be updated after the information comes to light.
Reportedly, Police Inspector Desai of Dahegam police station said that the police reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported and launched an operation to control the situation. He further said that a case has been registered against the accused Mohammad, Arzab Khan, Owesh, Sajid Hussain, Wasim, Mohammad Toufiq, Sanjay, Mohammad Irfan and Nasir Khan and a group of 6 others under sections 189(2), 191(2), 191(3), 352 and 324(4) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Further, the police officer has said that various teams are currently investigating. He has also said that some of the accused have been arrested.
