“In a disturbing case of sexual exploitation, a minor girl was allegedly locked in a private hostel in Koyambedu and sexually assaulted by multiple individuals, including a supporting actor and a local DMK functionary. The Koyambedu all-women police have so far arrested eight people in connection with the case, with investigations ongoing to identify additional perpetrators.
The case came to light in August when police initially arrested six individuals, including a 45-year-old supporting actress from Andhra Pradesh identified as Nagammal, for allegedly forcing the minor into prostitution and subjecting her to physical torture. All six were subsequently jailed.
According to reports, the class 9 girl had lost her father and was abandoned by her mother who went on to remarry. She was living with her mother’s friend Poongodi who took advantage of her vulnerability and pushed her into prostitution luring her with gifts and money……”
