Dewas, MP – Janjatiya girl abducted by Islamists, case registered under SC/ST Act

In a terrifying incident from Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas district, a violent uproar ensued in the Udaynagar police station area following the abduction of a young Janjatiya woman. Enraged by the kidnapping, a large mob vandalized several houses and vehicles, leading to a tense situation in the locality.

Senior police officials, along with forces from three police stations, rushed to the scene to bring the situation under control. Based on the reports from Dainik Bhaskar, the turmoil erupted after the abduction of an Adivasi girl, reportedly by Islamist Sahil, son of Shaukat, from Joshi Colony, who allegedly colluded with his brother-in-law to commit the crime.

According to the police, the girl’s family lodged a complaint at the local police station, prompting a swift response. The authorities registered a case against Islamist Sahil, his father Shaukat, his mother Anisha, and Peer Parvez, under various charges, including kidnapping, assault, and issuing death threats, under the SC/ST Act.

The Hindu community’s anger escalated, resulting in demands for the demolition of the accused’s house. In their rage, the crowd caused significant damage to properties and vehicles in the vicinity. To manage the chaos, police forces from Bagli, Hatpipliya, and Kantafod were deployed in the area. ASP Akash Bhuria was also present on the scene to oversee the situation and ensure order.

The police have been actively trying to restore peace in the area, emphasizing the importance of law and order while addressing the community’s concerns. The incident underscores the severe reaction and communal tension that can arise in such sensitive cases, highlighting the need for prompt and effective law enforcement intervention against the Islamist perpetrators.

In recent incidents, Islamist perpetrators have reportedly brainwashed and eloped with a Hindu girl in Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, in Lohardaga, Jharkhand, Mohammad Akhtar was arrested for strangling his Hindu Janjatiya wife. The continuous targeting of the Hindu community has led to growing demands for the adoption of the bulldozer strategy to teach a lesson to the Islamist perpetrators by demolishing their properties and buildings. Hindu community leaders and concerned citizens argue that this approach is necessary to deter such crimes and restore a sense of security among the affected populations.
