In Uttar Pradesh’s (UP) Muzaffarnagar, a shocking incident occurred where Arbaaz, with the help of his friend, brutally murdered his wife. He suspected his wife, Chahat, of having an affair. He and his friend, Shahrukh, slit her throat and cut off her hands. They then put her body in a sack and threw it into the Kali River.
The accused returned to the river a few days later to ensure the water carried the body away. However, the police were alerted by an informant and caught Arbaaz in the act. The incident happened about a week ago, and on Wednesday (26 June) night, the police arrested the accused while he was trying to dispose of his wife’s body.
According to the police, they received a tip-off late Wednesday night that two men on a bike were heading to the Kali River to dispose of a body. The police rushed to the spot and arrested Arbaaz, who was caught with the body in a sack. Unfortunately, Shahrukh managed to escape.
During interrogation, Arbaaz confessed to the crime. He explained that he married 21-year-old Chahat from Uttarakhand eight months ago and had been hiding her from his family, living in a rented house. He accused Chahat of having an affair and spending too much money. Frustrated, he confided in his friend Shahrukh, and together they planned the murder.
Arbaaz revealed that he strangled Chahat, then slit her throat and cut off her hands to prevent her body from being identified. They put her body in a sack and dumped it in the Kali River. However, the body did not float away due to the hyacinth, prompting Arbaaz and Shahrukh to return to the river on Wednesday night to try again.
The police, acting on the informant’s tip, caught Arbaaz and recovered Chahat’s body. They also found the knife and motorcycle used in the murder. Arbaaz confessed, saying he couldn’t bear Chahat’s supposed infidelity and spending habits, which led him to commit the crime.
SP City Satyanarayan Prajapati confirmed that the police received information about two men trying to dispose of a sack in the Kali River. The police arrested Arbaaz while his accomplice, Shahrukh, managed to flee. The investigation is ongoing, and Chahat’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
