“14 Haryana panchayats decide to ‘boycott Muslims’ after clashes, inform police”, India Today, August 7, 2023:

“Panchayats of 14 Haryana villages have written to the police and administration, informing them of the decision to boycott members of the Muslim community. The letter came after the communal violence that started on July 31 in the BJP-ruled state.

Fourteen villages across three districts in Haryana collectively wrote to the police and district administrations, informing them of their decision to boycott members of the Muslim community. The panchayat’s decision came after the recent communal violence in Haryana.

The 14 villages are from Mahendragarh, Jhajjar and Rewari, which were among the districts that were hit by the communal clashes that started on July 31 after a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) religious procession was attacked. Six lives have been lost and significant damage to property was caused as the violence, which started in Nuh, spread to other districts…..”
