Leftist propaganda camps are on a new mission to rekindle the Lakshadweep issue by spreading fear among locals. They claim the administration is trying to bring ‘Gujaratis,’ thereby evicting the 4,300 Lakshadweep residents working temporarily in fisheries, forest, and coastal sectors.

With PM Narendra Modi’s intervention, Lakshadweep tourism woke up, and Maldives tourism suffered a decline. Is this why the communists are trying to create new problems in Lakshadweep? Will they destroy the social peace atmosphere and tourism growth here?

PM Modi visited Lakshadweep and convinced the people of Bharat of its tourism potential. Our government wanted to take a strong stand against Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, who is moving ahead with anti-Bharat measures, even expelling our Navy personnel from the Island.

Incidentally, Bharatiya tourists visit the Maldives and provide considerable income to the country, which has limited sources of income other than tourism. Tourism and import duties taxes account for an estimated 90% of government tax revenue. Poverty, drug abuse, income inequality, and gender inequality have plagued the Maldives for decades.

But with Modi’s campaign, Bharatiya tourists flocked to Lakshadweep, which devastated Maldives tourism. It is estimated that the leftists aim to destroy the peaceful atmosphere in Lakshadweep to send Bharatiya tourists back to Maldives again.

Beijing frequently used its economic might to further its geopolitical objectives. However, the Maldives administration is now struggling and is entangled in a debt trap with China. This is where local green communists are allegedly trying to incite Lakshadweep residents, a move that will undoubtedly help the Maldives.

Leftists are starting to stir up fears that Gujaratis will be brought in for fisheries and coastal posts. This will hinder the development activities in Lakshadweep, and the left parties aim to throw that Island into darkness forever.

A new list of allegations has been raised under the leadership of Communist Party of India (CPI) Lakshadweep State Secretary C.T. Najumudin. It is suspected that this move came after receiving funds from Maldives. Others infer a Chinese intervention.

Left parties are trying to raise the flag of rebellion against Modi and Lakshadweep administrator Praful Patel from Gujarat by alleging that ‘Gujarati colonisation’ is taking place.

Like their Gulf counterparts, local Keralite Muslims do not engage in hard labour. For the green communists, it is alright if a Bangladeshi or Rohingya works in Kerala. Why is it alienated when Bharatiya citizens from Bengal work in Lakshadweep?

In Kerala, the number of Malayalis taking up wage labour is decreasing. For this purpose, we use workers from Bengal and Bihar. But doing so in Lakshadweep is a big mistake. In the language of communists, it is alienation.
