Bangladesh: Hindu woman faced brutal torture in Coomilla, stripped, raped and recorded, the Police takes action after the video goes viral 

A brutal case of torture of Hindu woman of Bangladesh shocked th whole world. Islamists stripped a Hindu woman, assaulted and allegedly gang-raped in Muradnagar Upazila of the Coomilla district of Bangladesh. The Islamists also recorded the whole incident and uploaded the video on social media. 

However, as the video goes viral worldwide, the police came into action and arrested five accused including main accused Fazar Ali. 

As per the available information so far, the incident occurred on the night of 26th of June. The woman was alone in her house. Fazar Ali broke into her house and raped her. When she shouted for help, some Muslims youths came. Instead of protecting the Hindu woman, they assaulted her and stripped her. The Islamists also recorded the video of the woman while she was desperately trying to protect her dignity from being recorded. 

On 28th of June, some Islamists uploaded her video on social media platform Facebook. As the video went viral, the world got shocked. Netizens around the world condemned the incident strongly by targeting the Muhammad Yunus-led interim government. 

Soon, the Police came into action. A team led by SP of Coomilla, Nazir Ahmed Khan launched a massive manhunt and nabbed five accused Islamist. The arrested Islamists are identified as Fazar Ali, Muhammad Anik, Sheikh Suman, Ramzan Hussain and Muhammad Babu.

Meanwhile, some media houses in Bangladesh are trying to whitewash this heinous crime by saying that it’s a matter of illicit affair. 

But, political blame game also going on in Bangladesh regarding this incident. According to the local sources, all arrested accused Islamists are associated with political party Bangladesh Nationalist Party(BNP). But, BNP immediately denied any association with the accused persons. BNP leadership put the blame on the Awami League by saying that Awami League members are behind this and to malign the image of BNP, accused are putting the blame on them.
