A dispute broke out between two groups after a pet dog entered a mosque in a village in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. After this, people from the Muslim community pelted stones at women who were doing kirtan in the temple after the Taraweeh namaz. Seeing the situation, the SP Rural conducted a flag march in the village and deployed a large number of police forces. An FIR has been registered against 30 people in this case.
This incident is from Bahadurpur village of Bilari police station area of the district. Here on Monday evening (24 March 2025), the pet dog of Vinod Kashyap of the same village entered the mosque. Aslam’s son Ishaan hit the dog with a brick. The Hindu side opposed hitting the dog with a brick. This became the reason for tension between the two communities. However, some people intervened and calmed the matter.
On the same evening, after the Taraweeh prayers held during the month of Ramzan, Muslims created a ruckus. A mob of about 25-30 Muslims pelted stones at some women who were singing bhajans and kirtans in the village temple. Not only this, they attacked the Hindu side with sticks and beat them badly. A person named Vinod was also involved in the kirtan, whose dog had entered the mosque.
Aslam, Sharif, Rafiq, Ishaan etc. from the same village who were part of the mob, threatened Vinod and attacked him and tried to strangle him. They attacked Vinod and his nephew with sticks and beat them badly. On hearing about the attack, Hindus also came out of their houses . Seeing people coming, the accused fled from the spot.
Someone informed the police about this incident. As soon as the incident was known, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Akash Singh and CO Rajesh Tiwari reached the spot with a large police force. The police called an ambulance and sent the injured to the hospital immediately. The police have registered a case against 30 accused on the complaint of Vinod Kashyap.
The names of the accused against whom the case has been registered are – Aslam, Sharif, Rafiq, Ishaan, Misbahul, Akram, Shakeel, Taufiq, Safiq, Ali, Firasat, Irfan, Majeed, Shafiq, Rizwan, Salim and his four sons. Apart from this, the police have also registered a case against some unknown people. The police have arrested Aslam, Ishaan, Shafiq and Rafiq from the spot. The rest are being searched.
It is to be noted that in Bahadurpur village, the temple and mosque are situated on the same road. The distance between the two is only 80 meters. Three-fourths of the population in Bahadurpur village is from the majority community. One-fourth of the people in the village are from the minority community. The elders of the village say that there has never been any communal dispute in this village before.
