“Madhya Pradesh: Temple vandalised in Dewas, murti of the Devi broken, BJP MP promises strict action”, Opindia, December 31, 2024:

“On the night of 30th December, a temple at Vikas Nagar intersection in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh was vandalized by anonymous persons. The idol of the goddess was also damaged. Many members of the Hindu community notified the police, the next morning after learning about the incident.

The Industrial Area Police have initiated an investigation and filed a case against unidentified individuals. The FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team also arrived at the scene and carried out an inquiry after learning of the occurrence.

Local councilor Ajay Tomar stated, “This is a very old temple. Anti-social elements have sabotaged the place. We demand that the accused be arrested within 24 hours. Otherwise, there will be a massive protest.” Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Mahendra Singh Solanki, the MP for Dewas-Shajapur expressed, “I came to know that there is a temple of Kalika Mata in Vikas Nagar area which has been attacked by anti-social elements…….”
