The Indian Army launched a massive search operation for the missing Meitei man in Manipur. The search operation was started on the evening of the 25th of November. But, still, the man is not located. The missing man has been identified as Laishram Kamal Babu(54). Kamal Babu, a resident of Cachar district of Assam,
had been working as a supervisor for a contractor associated with the Military Engineering Services (MES) at the Leimakhong Military Station, Manipur.
On the evening of 25th of November, he didn’t return home from work. The family immediately contacted the Military Station and enquired about him. But, Kamal Babu already left from there. His family suspects that he might have been abducted on his way home.
Following this, the Army sprang into action. Surveillance efforts included scanning CCTV footage, speaking with his co-workers, and deploying tracker dogs for a more thorough search. Despite all these efforts, both Kamal Babu and his two-wheeler remain missing till now.
Right now, the Army has intensified the search operation. The Army has also contacted several Civil Society Organisation to locate Kamal Babu.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Police have also started an investigation on this matter. As of now, Kamal Babu remains untraceable.
