“‘Entire aim is to corner Mamata Banerjee’: Rajdeep Sardesai first plays ‘neutral’, then attacks Opposition for demanding accountability from West Bengal govt over RG Kar hospital rape-murder case”, Opindia, August 17, 2024:

“A week after a junior doctor was raped and murdered at the RG Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata, controversial ‘journalist’ Rajdeep Sardesai took to his YouTube channel on Saturday (17th July) to shield West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from incoming criticism.

To give the impression of ‘neutrality’, he pointed out how the State government cannot ‘escape scrutiny and accountability.’

Sardesai claimed, “A government hospital comes under the direct jurisdiction of the state government. What happens within its precincts is the responsibility of the state. The Mamata Banerjee government, therefore, cannot pass the buck on this gruesome act that took place in the hospital in Kolkata…..”
