More revelations on the Cutting South & Kerala government nexus

HinduPost documented how the separatist Cutting South conclave was conducted at Ernakulam town hall in March 2023. Foreign nations/entities and some anti-national journalists worked with the Kerala government to encourage a North-South divide in Bharat. Media reports now suggest even more allegations against these forces.

Cutting South is a terror front Popular Front of India’s agenda that Khalistani separatists pushed. In the Cutting South logo, the Southern states were highlighted in Islamic State black on the map of Bharat, which led to widespread protests.

Cutting South was jointly organised by Kerala Media Academy, Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ), Confluence Media, The News Minute and Newslaundry. Urban naxal journalists and communist leaders had a field day on the occasion.

Serious allegations exist against the state-owned Kerala Media Academy, which has paid half a crore rupees to propagate a North and the South Bharat agenda by sponsoring the Cutting South program. Kerala Media Academy Chairman RS Babu has been getting payments for two years, even after his term expired—3 lakhs per month, including salaries and office facility.

About 72 lakh rupees went down the drain from the state exchequer in this way. It is a grave violation of the law when the communist regime runs to the central government and the courts for loans and does not even pay pension money.

How did Kerala Media Academy Chairman R.S. Babu receive benefits despite the expiry of the term? It is suspicious how such offences happen in a government service. The same Kerala Media Academy spent 44.9 lakh rupees to push the Cutting South agenda. They depicted a distorted map of Bharat.

Where did the two crore rupees given by the Canada High Commission for the Cutting South separatist program go? A vigilance inspection revealed that the sponsorship amount of Rs. 2 crores has not been shown in the Kerala Media Academy accounts. On top of that, the state government paid unethical media persons 44.9 lakh rupees to organise the Cutting South conclave.

The Cutting South program brochure mentioned that the High Commissioner of Canada is the sponsor. Suspiciously, the specific interest of the Canadian High Commission in Cutting South is unclear. We know that the country unabashedly harbours and supports Khalistani separatists. The Canadian High Commission funded the program without the central government’s approval.

Earlier this year, the Kerala Government used the Media Academy and presentedMedia Person of the Year Award to Al Jazeera Islamic Media Channel’s Gaza Bureau Chief, Wael Al-Dahdouh. Al Jazeera, which the Qatari government runs, is one of the biggest anti-Bharat platforms in the world.

The autocratic Qatar ruler funds Al Jazeera and is a front for Palestine-based terror outfit Hamas. Congress, the Indian Union Muslim League and Communists have organised rallies and openly supported Hamas in Kerala. Kerala Media Academy has used the money from our exchequer to go outside the country and give awards to such war criminals.

How can our government funds be used for programs like Cutting South? Kerala-based media outlets are now openly alleging what many experts suspect.

These infringements happened under Babu, who was retained at the helm despite expiring his term. Tourism Minister PA Mohammed Riyas and Finance Minister KN Balagopal allegedly support Babu.

Babu implemented Riyas’s sharia agendas, such as Cutting South. Riyas is married to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter and remotely controls the cabinet decisions. This is how Babu is being paid lakhs of salary even after his term, which violates the constitution.

The Kerala Information & Public Relations Department (I&PRD) handles the state government media. Former IPRD directors had informed Vijayan, who is in charge of the department, that Babu’s continuation violated the law. It was also notified that the IPRD officials were responsible for the state’s illegal payments to Babu.

Kerala Media Academy is under IPRD. Their official pleas were allegedly rejected.
Babu and his caucus threw out those IPRD officials who questioned his tenure. As per media reports, this is how Babu persists in the academy Chairman’s position and continues with salary.

After Babu’s term ended, former Delhi Bureau Chief Ajit Kumar, who retired from Mathrubhumi, was named to become the Kerala Media Academy’s chairman. The Chief Minister refused to appoint a new chairman despite the recommendation of CPM Rajya Sabha member John Brittas. This is why experts pointed out that green communist Riyas runs the show.

According to the governance structure of Kerala Media Academy, there is no provision for office bearers, including the Chairman, to continue for more than two terms of three years each. Appointed as the Chairman of Media Academy in September 2016, Babu’s second term was completed in September 2022.

The main expenditure items in the Rs 44.95 lakh submitted by the Kerala Media Academy are as follows:
Hall rent Rs 1.34 lakh, hotel room rent Rs 5.8 lakh, food cost Rs 4.5 lakh, flight ticket Rs 8.9 lakh, taxi rent Rs 2.13 lakh, hall decoration Rs 5.21 lakh, light & sound Rs 7.48 lakh, cultural program Rs 2.07 lakh.

What has the Kerala Media Academy contributed to Kerala’s media sector in the past eight years? We know they gave half a crore rupees to the Cutting South propaganda and rewarded an Al Jazeera cameraman. No one knows what good they have done for Kerala.

Whatever Babu earned illegally must be confiscated and returned to the state treasury. It is certain that even if this government falls and a new one comes, certain government officials and communist leaders will have to be held responsible for these anti-national corrupt practices.

The primary conclusion of vigilance is that after the entire program cost was spent from the budget plan allocation of the government institution Kerala Media Academy, the organisers pocketed two crore rupees given by the Canada High Commission. The Additional Chief Secretary of the Vigilance Department directed the IPRD Secretary to conduct a departmental inquiry and submit a report after the prima facie irregularity was found.
