On Thursday evening (20 June 2024), a severed head of a calf was found near the Gupta Colony in Delhi’s Sangam Vihar area, which created a stir among the Hindus in the area. It is being said that severed body parts of cows have been found many times before this. The police force is investigating the incident by checking CCTV footage, and local people have been appealed to maintain peace.
The disturbing scene of a beheaded calf caused absolute chaos in the area. Senior police officials reached the spot and took charge to control the situation. There was a tense atmosphere at the spot. The police officials tried to convince everyone and started doing flag marches to ensure the situation did not deteriorate.
Speaking with correspondents of ETV Bharat, South Delhi DCP Ankit Chauhan, who reached the spot, said that the police received a call at around 6.30 pm about the presence of the dead body of a calf. The police immediately reached the spot and started investigating. The police have reportedly formed five teams for investigation, and the nearby CCTVs are also being scanned. The police team has claimed that if anyone is found guilty, strict action will be taken against them.
Many local Hindu leaders also reached the spot. The police appealed to everyone to maintain a cordial atmosphere in the area and cooperate with the police. The leaders who reached the spot said such incidents have been happening continuously in this area for several days. “As soon as we got the information, we immediately reached the spot and appealed to the people to maintain peace”, they added. The leaders say that someone is trying to spoil the atmosphere in the area.
According to a report by an account, The Treeni on X, the severed parts of the calf were found in a Kali Mandir in the area. This raises concerns about anti-Hindu forces trying to create havoc and terror in the Hindu community in the region. The police and state administration need to take serious action to avoid such barbaric occurrences in the future.
