Why think tank funding matters Think tanks have played, and continue to play, an important role in the creation of U.S. foreign policy and global policy – Council on Foreign Relations played a crucial role in planning a new international order after World War II.
– Brookings helped design the Marshall Plan (Rehabilitation of Europe after WW2)
– RAND Corporation prepared strategy of the Vietnam War
– Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), American Enterprise Institute (AEI) convinced Bush govt to attack Iraq
Each and everything that is happening today and that will happen tomorrow weather some war, arms supply, global health policy, refugee policy, agriculture policy, climate policy, education policy, everything is decided by these Think Tanks.

U.S. government funding of think tanks US govt contributed $1.49 billion to US think tanks from 2019 to 2023. Dept of Defense is far and away the top donor in the Think Tank Majority of these contributions going to the RAND Corporation (more than $1.4 billion).
Another major funding of these tank tanks comes from Pentagon contractor or military industrial complex
US arms manufacturing companies
Biggest donors are Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin
And biggest beneficiary of this military industrial complex funding is Atlantic Council Atlantic Council is an influential militaristic influence network, staffed with military, CIA, and their attendant politicians; and CEOs from strategic industries, like oil and media.
It has strong connections to NATO
Its behind the Russia Ukraine War
It also receives funding from Bertelsmann Foundation, Carnegie Corporation, Open Society, Hewlett Foundation, National Endowment for Democracy, Norway/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rockefeller Brothers Fund etc.
Global funding to US Think Tanks
Surprisingly UAE is the biggest donor of these Deep State Think Tanks, another ones are UK and Qatar
Here we are taking oil companies owned by Govt also as funding from govt.
Biggest beneficiary of these foreign funding are Atlantic Council, Brooking Institution and German Marshall Fund
Brookings Institution is funded by Qatar Govt, Bill Gates, Open Society, Rockefeller foundation. Hewlett Foundation, ClimateWorks etc.
German Marshall Fund (GMF) is a CIA front group.
Despite the ‘German’ in its name, it is a fully US/CIA-controlled operation, mainly to maintain a network of influential European politicians and journalists
It’s behind the formation of OECD and European Union.

If score 2/3 – Not transparent
If score 0/1 – Not at all transparent
You will find most of these Think Tanks are not transparent in their funding, members, meetings, policies.
Big tech companies have also been continuously increasing their funding into these think tanks
