Deaf-mute Christian minor girl abducted, held as sex slave for 2 months – Lahore, Pakistan

A deaf and dumb Christian girl child has been abducted and is being held as a sex slave in Lahore, Pakistan. A video of the helpless mother narrating her ordeal was shared by Pakistani minority rights activists and the same was acknowledged by Lahore police who claimed the victim’s “family has shown complete faith in genuine efforts of police for recovery.”

However, in the video the mother is heard saying that it has been 2 months since they lodged the police complaint, and despite naming 3 accused – Aleem, Bashar, Azeem – the police has not arrested any of them or recovered the girl.

Speaking in Punjabi, the mother narrates how she found her daughter missing after coming home from work. She and her elder daughter heart-wrenchingly narrate how the abducted girl managed to call them briefly a few days back, and was screaming in her own way asking them to rescue her.

The family is also being sent nude pictures of their daughter, the ‘Voice of Pakistan minority’ twitter handle added.

@DIGOpsLahore, apparently the Official twitter account of DIG Operations Lahore stated –

“Robina Patras mother of Komal Patras resident of Shibli Town approached police PS sanda on 16/3/20 and reported that her daughter Kamal patras is missing and some unknown persons have abducted her. Case FIR No. 405/20 under section 365B was registered and investigation started.

Investigation teams have raided two places in Okara but so far she could not be recovered. Her family released a video on twitter, complaining about slow action by police.

The family has suspected 3 persons to be involved in this incident. Police is making all our efforts to arrest accused and recover Komal on earliest. The family of Komal has shown complete faith in genuine efforts of police for recovery.”

Minor Hindu and Christian girls are the favourite targets of fundamentalist Muslims who abduct & force these girls into sex slavery or get them converted and ‘married’ off to Muslim men twice or thrice their age. Often times, a few months after such ‘marriages’, the girl is sold into prostitution or killed – this was admitted by a senior Pakistani journalist Najam Sethi.

A well-oiled apparatus consisting of religious institutions like the Sufi shrine Bharchundi Sharif, govt. women shelter homes where the victim is sometimes housed if case reaches the courts but where the Muslim radicals have full access to intimidate girls, a police which is either hand-in-glove with the mullahs or scared of taking them on, and an Islamist-minded judiciary which condones such acts and most often sends the girl home with her husband/abductor.

Pakistani law makers have failed to even pass bare minimum acts like preventing conversion of minors due to opposition from the Islamist lobby. Pakistani society, which is indoctrinated with Islamic supremacism and anti-Hindu / anti-minority rhetoric in schools, madrassas and through mainstream media, either endorses such acts due to their belief that bringing someone into the fold of Islam is a good deed, or prefer to keep quiet out of fear of being branded un-Islamic. The few voices which do speak up, are quietly liquidated by the notorious Pakistani deep state if they become too loud and persistent.
