On the night of January 23, just days before the Hindu festival of Basant Panchami & Saraswati Puja, Maa Saraswati murtis were desecrated in Purbadhala Bazar in Purbadhala upazila, Netrokona district of Bangladesh. The attacker was captured on CCTV footage.
The local organizers of Saraswati Puja claimed that such criminals never get punished for their hate crimes, which emboldens them to continue their anti-Hindu attacks targeting other Hindu houses, temples and shops.
OC(Officer in Charge) of Purbadhala Police Station, Mohammad Saiful Islam collected the CCTV footage and arrested one accused. He claimed that the accused was intoxicated/a drug addict. This is a common excuse used by Islamists if they are caught, or by Bangladeshi authorities to down play such hate crimes, say human rights activists.
Unfortunately, CAA cannot help them. CAA is only for those who came with passport, have visas and came before 2015. All non-Muslim refugees should get instant citizenship, without any conditions or deadline or documents. When people had to run for life can they collect their passports and get visa before they cross the border. Exchange of population should be implemented between India and Pakistan (and Bangladesh).
Bangladesh is the abode of Islamic jihadists whose inherent tendency is to wipe out the Hindus. To achieve they resort to all shorts of viles: they rape & kill Hindu women, abduct Hindu girls, rape them and then convert them to Islam, vandalize Hindu properties (Mandirs, houses), gut down Hindu shops, wage genocidal attack now and then on Hindu families so that the last Hindus flee Bangladesh (just as Rohingyas fled Myanmar). The Hasina Govt is weak and incapable to bring the Jihadists to book. As a result the Bangladeshi Hindus continue to suffer from unparallel fear psychosis!
