Hindu minorities are not safe in Muslim-majority Bangladesh. Hindu minorities are becoming victims of Islamist torture. Now, such a case has been coming from the Chandpur district of Bangladesh.
Islamist Nurul Amin mercilessly beat an elderly Hindu woman named Pratibha Rani in Natehra village under Barakul Union of Hajiganj Upazila of Chandpur district.
On the 19th of March, Pratibha Rani was in the market. She was chewing betel leaf as usual. Local Muslim resident Nurul Amin allegedly told her not to chew betel leaf during the holy month of Ramadan. When she disagreed to do so, Nurul Amin got enraged and attacked Pratibha Rani.

Pratibha Rani was mercilessly beaten by Nurul Amin with a bamboo stick. Due to the torture, Pratibha Rani was seriously injured. Her hands and legs were swollen. She was admitted to the local hospital. She is now undergoing treatment there.
From the hospital bed, Pratibha Rani said, “Now Nurul Amin and others are trying to take me from the hospital. They are coming to the hospital regularly and telling me to arrange better treatment for me. They also threatened me not to file any complaint.”
