“A Hindu businessman and his elderly mother were among four people injured after an armed mob of approximately 15–20 individuals allegedly launched a violent daylight attack on a business establishment in Chitalmari Upazila of Bagerhat district, leaving the principal victim hospitalized with serious injuries and raising concerns over the police response.
The attack took place at approximately 1:11 p.m. on Wednesday at RM Poultry Fish Mill in the Boyalia Van Stand area of Chitalmari Bazar. The primary victim, Ripon Mondol (35), son of the late Nikhil Chandra Mondol of Charkudaltala village, was reportedly dragged from his workplace and brutally assaulted by the group.
Dragged From Business and Beaten With Hammers
According to eyewitnesses and family members, the attackers stormed the premises before forcibly pulling Mondol outside. The mob then allegedly beat him repeatedly with hammers and other blunt weapons in full public view…..”
