Indian Muslims brainwashed by Pakistan’s Dawat-e-Islami, online courses glorify Pakistan: India Today report

Pakistan-based Sunni organization Dawat-e-Islami is reportedly organizing online audio classes through Skype. These courses are aimed at brainwashing Indian Muslims and preparing them for jihad. The exclusive investigation was conducted by India Today whose reporter used a fake Muslim identity to enrol in the organization’s course. “The role of Dawat-e-Islami in radicalising Indian youth suits Pakistan’s agenda to bleed India by a thousand cuts”, said Shesh Paul Vaid, Former J&K DGP.

The murder of Kanhaiyalal in June this year brought to the fore the Dawat-e-Islami connection of his murderers Riyaz Khatri and Ghous Mohammad. The accused are reported to have visited Karachi in 2014. The Islamist organization, however, denied its role in the Hindu tailor’s murder.

The India Today probe exposes Pakistan’s lies and says that the Sunni organization is using technology as a weapon to target and enrol Indian Muslims for its jihadi agenda. It is instilling hatred among Indian Muslims thereby pushing its agenda. As per the report, Dawat-e-Islami responded by mail within a few hours when its reporter applied under the fake name Rashid Ahmed.

Following his application, one Hasin Ahmed claiming to be from Dawat-e-Islami’s Madhya Pradesh branch contacted the reporter and discussed the fees and timings of the course. The classes were strictly audio-based that was conducted through Skype. Teacher MTM 522 Faizan Online Academy ID started sharing course content with the undercover reporter.

The files glorified Pakistan and brainwashed Indian Muslims to contribute their might towards making Pakistan as the stronghold of Islam. Dawat-e-Islami through its pre-recorded messages asked Indian Muslims to confront infidels (Kafirs), and also resort to violence for this cause.

“The country of Pakistan is a great blessing to us. We need to assist in its building”, the lessons said. In one audio clip, a man remarked, “We wish our country became the bastion of Islam in reality. Those who gave their lives for Khuda aren’t dead. They are very much alive. You’re simply not aware. People who have been killed for adhering to Khuda’s way shouldn’t even be considered dead, let alone be given the title of the dead. They’re still alive. People simply don’t comprehend that”, one of the messages says.

“Islam relies on sacrifices; we must lay down our lives for Din for it to exist. Muslims who strengthen their consciences give Islam strength”, says another message glorifying Qurbani (sacrifice) in the name of Deen-e-Islam. Another message notes, “Muslims have become complacent. Sin exists everywhere. Non-Muslims have become dominant. If anyone sacrifices their life, it’s only for worldly reasons. The vision for the afterlife has eroded”.

“Dawat-e-Islami is a Pakistan-based Sunni Islamic organisation that runs several Islamic educational institutions and online courses in Pakistan and many other countries. Dawat-e-Islami, which means ‘Invitation to Islam’, was established in 1981 by Maulana Abu Bilal Muhammad Ilyas Attari. It began as a revivalist group influenced by Sufi beliefs, but it has since transformed into an extremist Islamist group with overt ties to terrorism”, reports OpIndia.

The jihadi organization has now spread its wings into several countries. It is operational in many countries including Bangladesh, Canada, Hong Kong, the UK, and the USA. The official website of Dawat-e-Islami provides a number of online programmes.

The role of the organization came to the fore following the murder of Kishan Bharwad. It came to light that Maulana Usmani, who was arrested by the Gujarat ATS, was associated with Pakistan-based Dawat-e-Islami that collected money to brainwash Muslim youth. About 2000 donation boxes belonging to the terrorist outfit have been discovered in Ahmedabad alone.

The money collected is sent to Pakistan from where it is routed back to Bharat via Dubai using the hawala route in the name of providing Islamic education to Muslims but it is actually used to brainwash them instead. Maulana Usmani, who has reportedly been working towards the goal of converting Bharat into an Islamic nation (Ghazwa-i-Hind), is believed to be running a centre of Dawat-e-Islami.

The role of Dawat-i-Islami also came to the fore in an Islamic conversion ring busted in Nuh, Haryana last year. The organization even attempted to hold religious congregations in 2018 and 2019 in Telangana and Karnataka which was vehemently opposed by Muslims themselves. It must be pointed out here that Congress had allotted land to this terrorist outfit but had to drop the plan after opposition to the move.

  1. Pakistan is a rogue country. Since its very inception, it has been lauching all out efforts to destabilize this Indian subcontinent. It operates different mechanisms: 1. Nurturing and training young Muslims to become Jihadists who’re then slipped across the LoC to wage terror attacks on Govt. establishments and people, 2. Operating online courses to inflame Indian Muslim youths with jihadist ideologies, 3. Printing fake Indian currency notes and spirit them across the border via Bangladesh & Nepal to run black money as a parallel economy….. so on.
