“By now, it is glaringly obvious to anyone with a shred of common sense that Bharat must enforce total isolation of Pakistan across diplomatic, economic, sporting, and cultural fronts. This is the only way to dismantle the toxic, supremacist ideology that fuels its state-sponsored terrorism and genocide of Hindus. Yet, despite the Modi government’s nationalist credentials and firm retaliations against terror, Bharat still projects dangerous inconsistency—epitomized by the BCCI and Jay Shah-led ICC’s desperation to play the group-stage match with Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup, purely to cash in on the lucrative India-Pakistan hype.
Pakistan, by contrast, has managed to emerge looking stronger from this entire episode, even though it ultimately walked back its announcement to boycott the match against India in “solidarity” with Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s Islamist regime under Muhammad Yunus had refused to play in India, citing “security risks” after New Delhi protested the sharp rise in attacks on Bangladeshi Hindus following Sheikh Hasina’s ouster and the BCCI decided to drop Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman from IPL.
