Protest in Europe against persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan

In light of International Women’s Day, human rights organisation GHRD (Global Human Rights Defence) is organizing a protest event on 7 March 2019 in The Hague, Netherlands against the persecution of women from the minority community in Pakistan. At least 1000 girls, mostly from the Hindu community, are abducted, raped and forcefully converted to Islam in Pakistan every year. Police authorities do not file FIRs (First Information Reports), which consequently allows the perpetrators to get away with impunity.

Event: Women’s Rights March

Location: Grote Kerk, The Hague, Netherlands, Europe

Date & Time: 7 March 2019, 14:00 (2 PM CET)

GHRD invites everyone to participate in this protest and raise their voice against this religious persecution. If you would like to attend the event, please RSVP along with the number of persons via an email to [email protected], or register via this link.

Please see the schedule and flyer of the event-

After the protest march, we will be holding a seminar at the Grote Kerk, The Hague. Women from Pakistan’s minority communities will be sharing their experiences about religious persecution in Pakistan. There will also be a short documentary screening highlighting the ongoing human rights violations in Pakistan. It promises to be a thought-provoking and inspiring evening.

About GHRD

GHRD is an organization which focuses specifically on promoting and protecting human rights in South Asia (Bharat, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.) GHRD places emphasis on those areas and populations of the world where severe and extensive human rights violations have continued unabated over long periods of time and where structural help and global attention of Governments and international institutions have failed to reach.
