Dr. Elst is a renowned Belgian Indologist who has a doctorate on the subject of Hindu nationalism. He is the author of several books like “Ram Janmabhoomi vs Babri Masjid: A Case Study in Hindu-Muslim Conflict”, “Decolonizing the Hindu Mind: ideological development of Hindu revivalism”, “Negationism in India: concealing the record of Islam” etc.
