Violence hits Maharashtra after Islamist outfit Raza Academy and NCP leaders distort Tripura disturbance

Islamist violence was witnessed in Amravati when Muslim organizations were protesting after Friday prayers reportedly against the Tripura disturbance caused due to fake news regarding ‘mosque vandalization’ was amplified.

Violence by Islamist Raza academy

As per reports, incidents of stone-pelting took place in Amravati, Nanded, Malegaon (in Nashik district), Washim, and Yavatmal when Muslim organizations were conducting rallies against the disturbances in Tripura.

Following these incidents, local Hindus were forced to stand up in self-defense. A bandh call was given on Saturday and BJP leaders just became the face of the protests unlike what MSM (mainstream media) would like us to believe. The headlines by Hindustan Times insinuated that BJP (read Hindus) was at the forefront of fomenting trouble which is far from the truth.

In fact, Hindus had expected Shiv Sena to step up to the plate considering Uddhav Thackeray and his men have often said that they haven’t given up Hindutva. But in view of their newfound secularism, Sena fell well short of expectations.

Role of Islamist Raza Academy

The role of Sharad Pawar-led NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) and the Islamist Raza Academy in the violence that unfolded has now come to the fore. NCP Corporator Ayaz Hulchul has been taken into custody by the Malegaon police in connection with the Friday violence. Meanwhile, BJP leader Nitish Rane has lodged a formal complaint against Shiv Sena’s Arjun Khotkar and Raza Academy demanding action be taken against them for provoking mobs to riot and loot Hindu shops.

A toolkit was created to deliberately create riots in Maharashtra using fake pictures stating that Quran, Muslim houses, and mosques were burnt in Tripura whereas the Tripura DGP refuted these claims. Social media and local channels were used to create a false narrative. Raza Academy has been at the forefront of the ‘protests’ alleging that Muslims are being targeted in Tripura. It must be mentioned here that Raza Academy had been responsible for the Azad Maidan riots where Islamists destroyed the Amar Jawan Jyoti.

Youth belonging to Raza Academy attempted to create disruption by entering mixed residential areas but the police stepped in on time to bring the situation under control and thwarted the mischief-making attempts of the Islamist outfit’s members. When their plan failed, the youth resorted to stone-pelting state reports.

“This terrorist organization Raza academy is behind all the violence and riots in different parts of Maharashtra! Every time they disrupt and break all the rules and the government sits and watches. Either the government bans them or we have to finish them in the interest of Maharashtra!”, said Nitesh Rane.

Raza Academy was founded in 1978 with its office in Mohammed Ali Road for propagating the work of twentieth-century Sunni leader Ahmed Raza Khan. Interestingly, its founder and President Saeed Noori was into the sewing thread business and became the leader of Sunnis without a formal Islamic education.

TOI reported that Raza Academy under the leadership of Noori shifted direction from publishing literature to leading Islamist protests. It had led to several protests, which often led to violence, injuries, and deaths. Despite its activities, Raza Academy has not been banned or subjected to police scrutiny. The Times of India reported that the outfit had the support of a former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader R R Patil. In his defense, the founder of Raza Academy had claimed to provide a platform for Muslims to express their anger in a democratic setup”, says OpIndia.

What happened in Tripura?

Hindu organizations took to the streets in North Tripura district to protest against the attack on Hindu minorities of Bengal and when the procession reached Rowa village the situation turned worse following stone-pelting, and agitated protesters reportedly targeted some minority-owned properties.

This became a trigger for Islamists on social media to flood fake news that mosques were vandalized and/or burnt. Serial liar and hate propagandist Rana Ayyub called it a ‘precursor to genocide’, and this is the same person who has yet to utter a word on the actual genocide going on in Bangladesh and ethnic-religious cleansing of Hindus in West BengalBharuchAligarh just this year.

Islamist handles made wild claims that “12 mosques in five districts of Tripura were desecrated or burned”, and Indian Express ‘journalist’ Samriddhi K Sakunia claimed “15 mosques were vandalized and three mosques were completely destroyed” over the last week. Islamist bigot, fake news peddler, and Newslaundry columnist Sharjeel Usmani, who has called the entire Hindu society “rotten” at a Maoist gathering, also chimed in. Fake images and videos were circulated.

While the disturbances in Rowa got heavy media coverage, disturbances in the Kadamtala tehsil area of North Tripura district got scant coverage. Here a Muslim mob attacked houses, shops, and vehicles belonging to Hindus. In videos posted on social media, the Muslim mob can be seen marching with sticks in hand. Attacks on Hindus and Hindu temples were downplayed by the MSM.

Tripura is like an oasis in the desert for beleaguered Hindus in that part of the world. Surrounded by Islamist Bangladesh on the left and Christian extremist Mizoram on the right, it is home to persecuted Hindus and other Dharmic minorities (like Buddhist Chakma) from both.

However, Islamo-leftist forces in Maharashtra were probably on the lookout for an opportunity to foment trouble in the state and appear to have leveraged the Tripura violence. The secular state government has time and again failed the citizens of the state when it comes to governance.
