MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) Chief Raj Thackeray strongly criticized his cousin Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. He opined that Uddhav Thackeray could not be trusted. Raj gave his opinion on several topics in an interview to a private channel, including Hindutva, Shiv Sena, and Uddhav Thackeray.
The MNS chief reiterated that Shiv Sena’s Hindutva ideology died with Bal Thackeray’s demise, and now Shiv Sena’s ideology was all about money and power. Raj also said that his party’s dominant ideology was Marathi Asmita, but he would stand as a Hindu when needed. He highlighted how his party has always stood by the locals.
He also highlighted Uddhav Thackeray’s close aide that Sanjay Raut was responsible for the split in the Shiv Sena, adding neither Devendra Fadnavis nor Amit Shah was responsible for the split. “Give credit to Uddhav Thackeray, look at the allegations and accusations made and the role played by Sanjay Raut. Look how he was on television every day and what he said surely irritated people, but MLAs don’t leave because of a man speaking on television, there was a reason why I left, and many others left, including the MLAs who left now, for all leaving the party there’s only one reason,” The Organiser quoted Raj.
He pointed out how Shiv Sena abandoned Hindutva after forming the government with the Congress and NCP (Nationalist Congress Party). Sena dropped ‘Hindu hridaysamrat’ from Bal Thackeray’s name on posters and replaced it with the word ‘janab’. Furthermore, the party forgot Bal Thackeray when it was in power but now that Uddhav is out of power, they talk about him and Hindutva.
“Uddhav, who was always unwell earlier, also started visiting Sena Bhavan every day. He is not trustworthy. He says one thing and does another”, Raj pointed out. He opined that honest people shouldn’t worry about ED summons while citing how he had cooperated with ED investigations.
