Spate of attacks on SC/STs in Rajasthan, while Gandhi-Vadras play politics in Lakhimpur

Although Congress-ruled Rajasthan has turned into a lawless state its top leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra are busy politicizing the Lakhimpur Kheri incident conveniently turning a blind eye to the situation in Rajasthan.

Attacks on SC/STs on the rise in Rajasthan

A spate of incidents against SC/STs has been reported from Rajasthan under the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government is in power. Women have been brutalized, minors have been raped, and youths have been mercilessly thrashed, yet the brother-sister duo (Rahul-Priyanka) haven’t found time as much as to question the Gehlot government let alone visiting the state.

The spate of attacks and the rising crime graph only indicates the total collapse of law and order in Rajasthan. Here is a list of recent incidents that took place:

1) Hanumangarh – a couple of days ago a youth was thrashed to death by a group of men allegedly over a love affair and his body was thrown outside his residence.

2) Jalore – earlier this month a youth named Jitendra Bamania was mercilessly beaten up by five people after a spat broke out between them.

3) Alwar – a minor youth named Yogesh Jatav was lynched to death in September in Rajasthan’s Alwar.

4) Alwar – A 16-year-old from the SC community was gang-raped in Alwar. As per reports, the accused even filmed the incident and threatened to make it viral.

In the context of the law and order situation in Rajasthan, it is worth mentioning that farmers protesting at Hanumangarh’s Zilla Collectorate were lathi-charged leaving 8 of them injured. They were demanding that their paddy be procured by the government. So much for Congress and Gandhi-Vadra’s ‘concern’ for farmers.

what can be bigger proof of the failure of the law and order machinery than the assault of a Congress leader in a Congress-ruled state? On 8 October, Congress leader Megh Singh Bhati was assaulted on his return journey from Karni Mata Temple with his family.

Despite all these incidents Priyanka Vadra and Rahul Gandhi, who have jet-setted to UP to draw political mileage in the upcoming UP assembly elections, have shown no inclination to meet the victims and their families and offer their sympathies. All the Gandhi scions are bothered about are photo-ops during election season which is why they’ve landed in Lakhimpur Kheri in an attempt to revive the sagging fortunes of Congress in UP.
