Priyanka Vadra makes major faux pas – mistakes Sitaram Yechury for Sitaram Kesari

In a major faux pas, Congress leader Priyanka Vadra tweeted a condolence message to Late Sitaram Kesari instead of CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury who recently lost his elder son Ashish Yechury to the Chinese Virus.

The condolence tweet by Vadra read:

My deepest condolences to Shri Sitaram Kesari and his family. There are no words at a time like this, only prayers. May you have courage.

For the uninitiated, Sitaram Kesari is a former Congress President who was unceremoniously ousted by Priyanka Vadra’s mother Sonia Gandhi so that she could take over as the Congress President. It is said that Sonia Gandhi’s supporters locked Kesari in the bathroom at Akbar Road Congress Headquarters so that he wouldn’t be able to stop Sonia and her supporters from entering the Congress office to take over. Kesari served as the President of the party from 1996 to 1998.

But the embarrassment for Priyanka Vadra was far from over as she took two more attempts to correct herself and tweet the right condolence message to the right person. While the first tweet condoling the death of Sitaram Kesari’s son tweeted at 10.34 was deleted, Vadra put out a second condolence message at 10.36 in the morning.

In this regard, the OpIndia report says:

Soon, her social media team must have scrambled together and stepped in for the actual condolence message that should have gone up from Priyanka Gandhi’s account.

Except, the person handling Priyanka Gandhi’s account ended up tweeting the content they received as is. This was her tweet at 10:36 AM, two minutes after her first tweet on Sitaram Kesari.

Please tweet:

My deepest condolences to Shri Sitaram Yechury and his family. There are no words at a time like this, only prayers. May you have courage.

Finally, after two gaffes Priyanka Vadra got it right the third time around when she tweeted a message offering condolences at 10.38 AM to Sitaram Yechury and his family on their son’s demise.
