With the recent furore over the NRC in Assam and secular parties like Congress and TMC opposing the exercise with reactions ranging from ‘BJP is polarizing people’ to ‘this will lead to civil war’, HinduPost decided to interview Shri Priyardarshi Dutta, a noted scholar and columnist with in-depth knowledge of the illegal Bangladeshi immigration issue.
The interviewer, Shri Mayank Jain, talks to Shri Dutta about the history of the issue, its ramifications for the whole of Bharat and possible solutions. Towards the end of the interview, the recent statement by Dalai Lama that ‘partition could have been avoided if Jinnah had become PM’ is also discussed.
