Rahul leaves no chance to hasten the division targeting Hindus based on castes and that of the north-south regions of the country. But he must note that of Gorakshapeeth of Gorakhpur—where Yogi Aditynath holds the highest seat of Mahant or Pontiff—the principle pujari fulfilling the daily worship rituals is Kamalnath. He and most of the kitchen workers belong to none other than the Schedule caste.
When the Pran-pratistha ceremony in Ram mandir went on, 14 couples were invited to be presiding guests or Yajman. When the Shila poojan event for the Ram temple was organized in 1989, the first worship of Shila was done by Schedule caste VHP volunteer Kameshwar Choupal. Describing Ramrajya, the verse ‘Sab nar karahin paraspar preeti’ (All should live in mutual harmony) comes from Ramcharitra manas.
Keeping into account this high principal of solidarity of great Hindu body, when in 1966 the convention of Vishwa Hindu Parishad was held, all the Shankracharyas, Maha Mandaleshwaras, religious leaders of Jain-Sikh-Buddhism and several others were invited from all parts of the country. In the virtue of the effort categorically made by the then Sarsanghchalak RSS, Guru Golwalker, all took the oath of removing untouchability from all the activities that social life composed of. It was proclaimed that all the scheduled tribes are the indivisible part of the Sanatana Hindu stream. Shri Vishweshwar Teerth of Pejawar Matha (shrine) gave a mantra: ‘Na Hindu patito bhavet, Hindva sahodara sarve. Mam Diksha Hindu raksha, mam mantra samantaa’ (Hindu never gets degraded, all the Hindus are brothers to each other. My initiation, Hindu protection; my motto, equality)!
According to intra-party gossip, congressmen complain that the image of Rahul as ‘Pappu’ is designed to be reinforced by spending crores of rupees in the media.
However, the newspersons recently wanted the reaction of his aunt, Maneka Gandhi, about Rahul’s much viral electoral promises. Taking a dig at him, she said Rahul’s comments are akin to those of ‘Shaikh Chilli’, an epic figure known for whimsical attitude and jocular outpourings. So far, Rahul is seen to have refused to listen to anybody, but now he should be expected to give an ear to the voice raised by his own family!
