Mamata loses the plot, launches abusive rant against PM

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee seems to have lost the plot in the ongoing election campaign for the upcoming assembly elections. In what can only be called a desperate attempt to woo voters using rhetorics and theatrics, Mamata resorted to name-calling the PM.

Speaking at a political rally in Purba Medinipur district’s Erga, Mamata Banerjee said:

“We do not want BJP. BJP ke biday dao (bid farewell to BJP). We do not want to see Modi’s face. We do not want rioters and looters. We do not want Duryodhan and Dushasana.”

In her rally at Murshidabad, a desperate Mamata resorted to the outsider jibe:

“BJP is not a party from Bengal…it is a Gujarati party, danga party. They are neither for Hindus nor Muslims. They say hari hari and indulge in chori of the common man.”

BJP has lodged an official complaint with the EC (Election Commission) and pointed out that the remarks made by the West Bengal Chief Minister (CM) violate Paragraph 2 of the Model Code of Conduct which reads “states that parties and candidates shall refrain from criticism of all aspects of private life, not connected with the public activities of the leaders or workers of other parties”.

Mamata Banerjee has been trying to gather sympathy by resorting to all kinds of theatrics. Her attempts to leverage sympathy using the Nandigram incident fell flat and she took a quick u-turn after making allegations of a conspiracy.

However, such untenable comments from no less than the CM of a state against a democratically elected PM of the country indicate the desperate position TMC is in. Taking into account the fact that several leaders are deserting TMC, Mamata seems to have gone on an overdrive in making personal attacks.
