TMC minister Firhad Hakim abuses BJP and CISF calling them ‘offspring of pigs’

TMC MLA, Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, West Bengal, and ex-Mayor of Kolkata, Firhad Hakim was heard abusing the BJP and CISF (Central Industrial Security Forces) calling them the ‘offspring of pigs’ and inciting his voters to physically harm both BJP leaders and the CISF jawans who have been deployed to ensure free & fair voting in the ongoing WB assembly elections.

The video has gone viral and is being actively debated all over Bharat and especially in poll-bound West Bengal. His controversial comments came when he was participating in a roadshow during election campaigning amongst his followers and the general public.

Unlike Muslims, Hindus do not have any issues with pigs. Islam considers them dirty and consuming their flesh is called Haram and it is strictly banned. He was addressing women and even small children present, from his campaign vehicle while using expletives and said,

“BJP suwarer baccha bole jacchi”. (BJP is the offspring of pigs)

“Jab BJP aayega, toh suwar ke baccha ko pehela maaro” (If the BJP, the offspring of pigs come here, then, attack them first.)

Hakim added, “Let the elections get over. Then, our Central Investigation Department (CID) will take action against the ‘offspring of pigs’ CISF“.

As soon as this video went viral and when the gravity of his words hit him, Firhad denied the same terming the incident as ‘mere accusations’. He tried to spin the incident as the mischief of the BJP IT cell. He says that he never used abusive language and that the BJP is surviving since it is using ‘fake news’. Even though there is video evidence he alleged that it was in fact the BJP that has fabricated this video!

Meanwhile, the BJP has written to the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal requesting to censor and suspend Firhad from campaigning in the remaining phases of the Assembly elections for violating the model code of conduct. The very Lutyens media that had an issue with our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi saying ‘Didi o Didi’ remained mute after this abuse, call to violence and open threats given by a WB minister and Mamata confidante. He was also heard blatantly lying that the booth capturing incident in Sitalkulchi never took place and that the firing incident in the Cooch Behar district was to ‘scare the minority community’.

Firhad Hakim and Mamata Banerjee

Firhad is the TMC MLA from Kolkata Port constituency since 2011 and lives in the Chetla locality from where he controls it with an iron fist. In 2016, he introduced the Muslim-dominated Garden Reach area that falls in his constituency as ‘mini Pakistan’ to a visiting Pakistani journalist. With a dense population of a million and a half squeezed into a ten-kilometer radius, the entire locality area is home to a million Muslims.

The area has a violent history (many remember it for the brutal murder of  Deputy Commissioner of Police Vinod Kumar Mehta in the early eighties) and even now is a rough and unpredictable criminal den which should also explain the camaraderie between the TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and her lieutenant Firhad aka ‘Bobby’ Hakim.

When his comments drew criticism from all over Bharat, he tried to twist the narrative saying that he was only replying to Pak journalist Maleeha Siddiqui’s question of whether the area ‘looks’ like the Pakistani port city of Karachi. The journalist published the now infamous report in Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper aptly titled ‘Canvassing in mini-Pakistan of Kolkata’. That the signboards were all in Urdu excited her.

In late 2019, after mosques gave a call for protests following the introduction of the CAA, public property that included buses, toll booths, and trains was being widely burnt in Kolkata and heavy stone pelting was being aimed at the policemen. The state government did not take any stern measures to curb the destruction. Firhad the Kolkata Mayor addressed the criminally-inclined minority mob as ‘friends’ and appealed to them to stop the violence.

The reasons given in his statement were shocking. He informed his friends that ‘if the 70% Hindus start to support Amit Shah, the (Muslim) mob will not be able to walk the streets’. He added that if the BJP comes to power in West Bengal, the ‘Muslims would be forced to keep their heads down like they do in UP’! He also added that Didi has assured him that laws like the CAA and NRC will not be implemented in Bengal.

This is the kind of propaganda and tacit condonation of violence that elected representatives practice under cloak of secularism.

His name had also popped up in a 2014 sting operation where he accepted a bribe of 5 Lakhs from a fictitious businessman. The sting video, which was released in 2016 by Narada News, distinctly shows the investigative journalist speaking to an unsuspecting Firhad where he clearly points to a goon of his and says ‘isko dedo’ (give it to him). The guy then accepts 10 bundles of 500 Rupee notes, counts them, and confirms the same. Hakim has been WB minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs right since Mamata came to power in 2011.

Back then too Firhad had used a similar ploy saying that the whole video was doctored (some 45 minutes of unedited tapes!) and wanted a forensic examination of the tapes. The only difference was that back then he blamed the Congress and Left parties. He was grilled by both the CBI and the ED but still roams free.
