FIR against Congress IT Cell General Secretary for vulgarity against Padma Shri Kangana Ranaut

Though the Indian National Congress claims to be that it is a party that respects women, the former party president Rahul Gandhi keeps talking about women empowerment enough times, and all the pseudo-feminist of Bollywood and media rally behind this party, it has exposed itself as the home to some of the vilest elements that do not flinch before using some of the most derogatory words and disparaging expressions for women.

That Kangana Ranaut was honored with the Padma Shri didn’t sit well with the opposition and its coterie is a well-known fact. However, the limits of decencies were crossed when one Vinay Ojha, a Congress worker from Bihar, on November 15, made a revolting tweet targeting the actress. The tweet has, however, since been deleted.

Vinay Ojha is not just another small-time worker of the party but the General Secretary of Social Media and IT Cell from Bihar and had made several derogatory and contemptible remarks against the Padma Shri awardee and four times National Awardee artist after she was decorated with the award by the President of India on Sunday, November 14. The outrageous act was widely and instantly noticed leading to the Congress worker being slammed by netizens.

BJP Karyakarta Neelkant Bakshi, retweeted Ojha’s tweet, tagging the National Commission for Women (NCW), requesting the commission to take cognizance of the act. The NCW took immediate action on the matter; the chairperson of the commission, Rekha Sharma wrote to the DGP Bihar requesting to immediately file an FIR against Ojha and arrest him for making derogatory comments about a woman on social media. They also sought that the action taken by the administration must be “apprised to NCW at the earliest.”

It is worth noting that while her party workers keep hitting new lows when it comes to women, Priyanka Gandhi is gearing up to fight the electoral battle in Uttar Pradesh by flashing her “woman card” with the slogan of “Ladki hoon, lad sakti hoon”. How far will this woman card take the second-in-line dynast if she remains incapable of inculcating the basic ethics of political decorum in her party workers?

Rahul Gandhi had once infamously said, “Those who go to temples, tease women.” What we get to witness here is, those who work for Congress outrage a woman’s modesty online, and the Congress scion amicably clicks pictures with them.

Though Bollywood is bustling with self-proclaimed feminists who rally behind fellow actresses from the industry when they are booked for having links with the drug mafia in the name of woman power, none of these feminists stood up against the vile remarks made against the ‘Manikarnika’ actress. This shows the fake feminism that these entertainers from the industry put out for protest only when a colleague belonging to their favorite political coterie or ideological cabal is involved, irrespective of her being right or wrong. It once again establishes that the “heroes” and “heroines” of this field are people of double standards who must not be looked upon as idols by the youth.
